Lady Pens Volleyball History

YSU began playing volleyball in 1975 under Joyce Ramsey. There have been seven coaches in school history, including current Coach Mark Hardaway who took over the program Just last season.

Hardaway led YSU to a 15-14 record YSU in his first season, the program's best mark in 13 years. The Penguins won more matches in 2012 than they did in their previous three seasons combined, and their 10-win improvement tied for the 10th-best improvement in the country. Further, their 99-spot improvement in the RPI was 15th-best in the country.

Former Coach Joe Conroy was a four-time Coach-of-the-Year selection in the Mid-Con (1999, 1998, 1995, 1994). In all four of those seasons, the Penguins won 20-or-more matches including a school-record 27 in 1999.
