YSU @ South Dakota: 10/03 3 pm
« on: September 20, 2015, 11:11:32 AM »
The Yotes joined the MVFC in 2012, and YSU has won all three meetings with USD (13-10 in 2012, 38-34 in 2013, and 28-17 in 2014).

Last year, entering the fourth quarter at the Castle, USD was leading 17-7 until YSU scored three touchdowns in the final quarter.  YSU dominated the stats (except only converted 1/10 third downs) and had 557 yards of total offense.

The Yotes are 2-1 this year with a a 34-0 loss to K State, and wins over two feeble opponents: 27-17 over UC Davis and 52-0 over nonscholly Drake.  The last conference win for the Yotes was @ UNI on 10/19/2013.

Last week versus Drake, RB Trevor Bouma ran for 118 yards and 3 TDs.  QB Ryan Saeger passed for 2 TDs, no INTs, and 157 yards.

Massey gives YSU a 63% chance of winning, and predicts a score of 26-21.

This team cannot be taken lightly, and I think if USD was in the BSC they'd be a mid-pack team.  YSU finished the OOC schedule strong, healthy, confident, and has two weeks to prepare.  This is one of two MVFC games I feel good about.

My prediction:  YSU 38-24.

We only beat them 13-10 in 2012.

You are correct.  Dyslexia must be setting in.  Fixed it.

True statement here ^^ This will be the measuring stick that tells me "IF" Bo understands Valley football. SD looks to be better than last year and always plays well in the mini dome

"IF" Bo understands????
Bo knows football, of that I am certain.  The "IF" would be better directed to "IF" Bo has the players, and "IF" the players perform to their potential.  We lost to Pitt, not because Bo didn't understand ACC football, but because his players weren't as good and they didn't make all the plays that had a potential to make.  Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.  All this fixing blame for things is tedious at times.

OK,, My point; Bo's 1st Valley game against the bottom feeder in the league which gives YSU a scare every time we play.. "I" believe this will be a measuring stick to how well he has the troops prepared and how a long distance road games will play out. No doubt coach knows football just saying this league can be downright brutal (no Bobby Morris here).

Time will tell how the game plays out but I would rather start out against them then a couple of other teams.

Bo has coached in the NFL, SEC, Big 12, and Big 10. I really doubt that with his experience he is going to have issues figuring out the MVC

Yes.WFMJ has made the announcement. I believe the broadcast starts at 3 pm. Time Warner Cable just added CW to their HD channels lineup. However, I don't know if the game will be shot in HD.
