The online version doesn't show how much ink YSU got in this morning's Naples Daily News.  It's the majority of space above the fold, with a big pic of Bishop tackling a MSU receiver.  Very nice article:

http://www.naplesnews.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2016/11/21/college-football-notebook-souths-kenny-bishop-logs-stellar-game-youngstown-state/94227762/
Nice article.  Didn't know why Naples would know or care what YSU was doing, but Bishop's home town.  Good for him.  Hope he is healthy for playoffs.
Does anybody have "complete" injury list? IE Davis, Ruiz, Rivers, Thompson, Kennedy etc?

Trent's injury was very severe Go. Multiple fractures and shattered if you will. The good thing for him is he short arm's the ball in the first place
As I read a bunch of stuff on-line (it's on the internet, so it must be true!) once the bone heals it's healed.  I can find no examples of QB's with broken collarbones, regardless of severity, that didn't come back to full mobility.  I just think you were being a bit melodramatic.   Frankly it doesn’t seem very important as he isn’t going to make a living playing football, and at this point is #3 behind Hunter and Ricky.  Kid better use the time in class.

Fever  "If anyone could come back from this type of injury Trent could. Most quarterbacks never do and their throwing motion is cut down in half. .Best of luck to this young man"

I never heard of this?  I alwasy thought collarbones healed are fine.  Note the quote from http://www.emedicinehealth.com/ below:

Many broken collarbones heal on their own. If you don't need surgery, you will use a sling to keep your arm and shoulder from moving while the bone heals. An adult wears a sling for a few days or up to a week. A child may need one for 3 to 4 weeks.

You can begin simple exercises immediately and move on to strengthening exercises when they don't cause pain. Ask your doctor when it is safe to begin to exercise. If you start too soon, the broken collarbone may not heal well. If you are active, do not play sports or other activities until you can move your shoulder easily and it feels strong.

To help relieve pain, try acetaminophen or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, such as ibuprofen or naproxen.

Surgery may be recommended for severe breaks. When the ends of the broken bone do not line up with each other (displaced), surgery is more likely. Many experts believe surgery is especially important in young, active people.

After surgery, you will use a sling for up to 6 weeks. Your doctor or physical therapist will teach you gentle exercises to keep your shoulder moving for about 6 weeks, until you can start exercises to get your strength back. Most people have returned to all their activities by 3 months after surgery.

To bad Bo couldn't bottle up that performance by the O, and open it up again during the playoff run.  Great job by all involved.  The line opened up some huge holes, and gave Hunter time to throw.  The backs found the holes, broke some tackles, and showed good speed.  Hunter only threw one bad pass, and the receivers did not drop any.  Monty also called a good game.  Sure hope this is the start of a good run.
Unfortunately whomever we play in the playoffs will have more of an interest than MSU.  They couldn't have cared much less than the 5070 fans in attendance.  (The 600 or so in actual attendance!)
That was embarrassingly bad effort on the part of MSU.  They tackled worse than the Browns, and that is really saying something.  I don't believe I have ever seen a team out rush another by more than 500 yards!
Samford will have at least some interest in the game!
However Hunter seems to be in a much better flow, and Samford is going to have to pack the box to stop the run, which means open receivers.

Just as a kind of side note:  We finished #1 in the nation in sacks.  #1 in TD's allowed rushing.
That is 2 very good stats to lead in.  Not sure if is an official stat, but we rushed for 2866 and allowed 1157 for a difference of 1709 which has to be something close to a team record.

Samford game should be real show of opposing forces:

Rushing Offense:
YSU #7 rushing for 2866
Sam #110 rushing for 1157
Rushing Defense:
YSU # 11 allowing 1137
Sam # 99 allowing 2248

Passing Offense:
YSU #105 passing for 1738
Sam #3 passing for 3821  (yes kids, that's 189 more yards per game for Samford)
Passing Defense:
YSU #22 allowing 2048
Sam #57 allowing 2369

Whoever said this might be like the Alcorn State game might be on to something here!

Take it for what it's worth. these quick little passes has been a thorn in the side of our "D".
Quick little passes are tough on EVERY defense.  That was the basis of the West Coast offense, and also the spread offense.  Negates pass rush.  Will be tough task to stop this team.  Flip side is they are going to have real issues stopping us.

So I call to buy tickets this morning, called at 9:30 am, and I get an automated "Ticket Office is closed" message.  Yes, I know I can buy online, but I wanted to get an aisle seat, and online they don't really let you choose your seat.  More like luck of the draw.
If you had season tickets, you get "your" seat.  Just saying.......

Lots of crazy stats from this game, including out rushing a single opponent by +500 yards etc.
Funniest stat of the day? 5070 attendance.  I could have gone around and shook every hand of the fans in the stands and halftime and not missed a play!
While a number of you on the blog have suggested (IMO correctly) we should have far more "butts in the seats", we are FAR better than most of the league's teams in attendance.  Last season we were #2 MVFC on home attendance. (to NDSU)

It's crazy how this whole selection thing works,, A few year back YSU was 7-4 BUT!! left out of playoff's because "we lost 3 of our last 4". Now fast forward to 2016, the team we play Saturday has accomplished the same feat and are in??!  :)
I was looking at the same thing.  Frankly IMO,  they did right by YSU and wrong by Samford.

How about we worry about Samford and nothing else.

I'm not to worried about FG's it's the missed extra points that kill me??!?! Did I see Ole #49 with a shoe on??

How about #9? Did not look good when they helped him off the field.

Last year for #29 and #20. Seem like we are in good hands with # 37 and # 30 next year 8)

#6 looked good against MSU BUT I think Stevie Wonder could have completed some passes on them LOL!! J.k. I hope he's back into some sort of rhythm w/ the WR's.

Great to see some points scored finally, just wish it was against xDSU's  :P

xDSU'ers don't matter now.  I believe this is correct.  JT played for 6 national championships, winning 4 and won -0- regular season league championships.
You play to get in the playoffs and we are playing the best all season right now!  That is what is most important.  We need Moss, Rivers, and Kennedy to be health, that is my only wish going in.

Snow Blizzard saturday anyone ?
NO. I understand the southern team, but if we need snow to beat Samford at home then we probably should lose, and I'm getting far to old for terrible weather games. (don't worry, I'll be there regardless!)

I think we match up well.  Samford first in SoCon in passing offense but last in rushing offense.  Next to last rushing D.  Looks like their offense centered around QB Devlin Hodges and WR Karel Hamilton.  Both lead most offensive SoCon categories.

So Sack Party ?

Anybody know if 11 is healthy?  We need Rivers and Kennedy in playoffs

we need to focus on the task at hand:

38-7 good guys
Great guess.  Frankly last couple scores were more quit from MSU that great offense from us.
575 rush yards usually gets it done, what with 15-16 passing.  Silly numbers, but we needed an O lift going into the playoffs!  Go Guins.
