since absolutely no one gives a sh** about the Ill. St game, anybody up for speculating about who might be the new coach?
Vince Kehres is the most obvious choice and he DID interview for the Kent job before they hired Lewis, the OC from Syracuse.  He has a couple small kids would be big pay upgrade.

When they post attendance it includes season ticket holders whether they attend or not.  is that correct.
that IS correct.  YSU Saturday and Browns Sunday and I had plenty of room to stretch out at both!

While I still went to home games and the WV game, once we lost to Butler I lost ALL interest in the season.
you and almost everybody else!  we went to all the games, but the last 3 had VERY few fans.  The weather was awful but still, est. 1000 for a MVFC home game is embarrassing.  That is Slippery Rock attendance.

Well, it's the last game of the season (if anyone noticed or cares) and we are playing at Ill St. (if anyone noticed or cares)
Is there anything of interest in this game?  Obvious Bo played the seniors on senior day and they played well, best game of the season IMO.  Does he play next year's team Saturday?
I love our WBB team, but good grief, it's the last game of the FB season and we have more talk about WBB than FOOTBALL??
Will Bo be back?  Will his coordinators be back?

Remember Pitt was last place in ACC last year .  I beleive winless in league play.  Lets hope we shoot better or another  long year.
last last year and picked for last again this year, true enough, but it is ACC and I still bet it was one of our best showing against an ACC team, if not the best.  We shoot poorly and were down 3 at the half.  Last year we started out losing to quality teams by30.  Progress is progress.

People still care ?
"care" yes, "optimistic" no.  "curious to see some of the kids"  YES

Good solid win tonight!
ditto!  especially in the senate.......................oh, you were referring to the women's 10 point "easy" overtime win.  ditto that too!!   (kidding of course, great job ladies!)

Boy, this can be TOUGH crowd!  27-24 at the half and some of you are giving up on the season????

"Looks like the same team as last year.
Steals everywhere
Many fouls
Poor shooting
no defense: Pitt just drives to the hoop
no coherence
I watched 1Q: I snickered,, I laughed.
There is no hope, very sloppy and undisciplined"

We lost by 16 to an ACC team.  Wish I knew how may times we played ACC teams and were down only 3 at the half and lost by less than 16.  BET IT HASN'T BEEN MANY!
We'll shoot better going forward.  This team is going to be fun to watch over the next couple seasons.

I think they could have a pretty good squad this year but point guard is a big issue. Will miss Indiya big time.
missing Nikki too!  The Arbanas injury killed last season.

As a lifetime Lordstown resident, I know I am biased, but this is what college athletics as all about!  Walk-on to star!  One of the great stories I read about WBB at YSU was a couple years ago when they had an astronomical GPA to go with a winning record.  I don't know what is it now, but I'll bet it is high.  We should a be very proud of Sarah and her teammates!  Have a GREAT season, ladies!

Good stuff. I think we can make it with the QB's that we have, but we need to seriously look at O-line talent and depth. Also we need to take a serious look at our TB situation. I have not seen any thunder or lightning.
I don't think depth is a problem with the OL.  We have a BUNCH of back-ups!  (what we need is quality starters!)

I though we were going to have some "thunder and lightning" the last 2 home games, but while the weather SUCKED, it never lightninged!
While we finally got a "big back" in Braxton Chapman, we have giving him..........let me count them up.......1......yes, ONE DAMN CARRY!
Whatever happens we know MVG is gone after this year, and we "know" Mays isn't the answer, even if the only issue is durability, he isn't gong to play more than 2-3 games in a row.  GIVE SOME OF THE QB;s and RBs a CHANCE!

If this is the type of kid Coach Calhoun is recruiting, then the future looks VERY BRIGHT! (Devin is DEFINITELY very bright!)
You can find more "college athletes" that can barely put 4 woods together to form a sentience, this kid is almost ready for an color analysis job already!  This kid really "gets it!"  Really looking forward to this season.  I have YSU-UNI 11/10, Browns tickets 11/11 for Sunday, so I'll really be looking forward to YSU MBB 11/12 game!

Given that Valley football is not what it used to be(doesnt matter why), the approach of the football program should be to hire assistants who have connections outside the Valley, instead of cronies.

One comment about Powell.  It is indeed the location of Polaris, but using it as a hometown hides the fact that there numerous growing communities in and around it that have increasingly strong football programs. The town itself may have 12,000 people, but those kids are from the town in name only. There is no Powell HS for example.
You seem to want to make Olentangy Liberty into some football juggernaut?  It is almost exactly the size of Boardman or Austintown, and did make the playoffs as a 4 seed and a 7-4 record (Fitch is the valley's only D-1 qualifier as a 6th seed and a 8-2 record)  OSU roster spots from Fitch and Boardman combined, 0 OLHS 4.  Just doing my homework on 1AA's statement and found him 100% credible. I don't care about Powell football in the slightest.
