Odessa is a very good JUCO program. Robinson looks like a nicely built athletic kid that will work vey well in Calhoun's system.

Also, Geoff Hamperian has joined the team as a walk-on. 6-5 F/G from University School in WV.

Hamperian is a great athlete,it makes me wonder why he's not going the d2 route.  Nice player to go up against in practice.

Calhoun has brought in NINE new players with Devin Morgan sitting out this year.  I hope these guys can play since we have had a lot guys in the past who couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie.

We have a center,power forwards,small forwards,two guards,and a point guard in this historical haul.
The only thing we might not have is that designated 3 point shooter(zone buster) that many teams have .  DeAndra Murphy might be that guy although I'm not sure if he's a walk on or on scholarship.

I'm so glad we have guys like Naz Bohannon and Tyree Robinson.  The strong power guys have given YSU fits in the past and now we can match up.

Not sure what the starting line up is next season but Morse,Santiago, and Hartfield will start.   Got to believe with 2 years in the Horizon league that Haygood would be a starter but he'll be pushed.   Haygood has really improved from his freshman year to his Sophomore season so if he pushes it little more he'll be solid and he has help.

I really believe that Braun Hartfield is going to take it to another level next season.  He really came on during the Horizon part of the season while barely playing early.   He has the skills to be all conference.

Warning to the Horizon league,YSU basketball is going to be a tough out starting this November.

Tyree Robinson Odessa CC 6-5 220 lb.   Listed as a forward on their roster.  12.8 ppg and 7 rebounds playing an average of 15 minutes a game . shot 66% from the field.   I thinks we're done with next years roster.

HS senior numbers were 25.7 ppg 14 rebounds 5.5 blocks in the Boston area (actually 50 miles south of Boston).   I just watched his video and he's a monster inside who mostly dunks.  I read were he was going to commit to New Mexico state.   Looks like a big pickup for the Penguins.     He 's the guy you want getting off the bus first.

Wilbourn is going to be a nice addition .   He needs to continue to add muscle but if you watch his high school sr video and contrast that to his 2nd year at CC it's like two different guys.  He has added strength and athleticism. Whether it's being 2 years older or he got in the weight room or both.
We're not at this point going to get a 4 star or 5 star guys so coach needs to finds these overlooked players with upside and I hope he has.

Alex Wilbourn, a 6-11 C from San Diego City College has committed. Long and lean. More of a face up forward than a post up. Seems like he runs pretty well. Should fit the system.
Do you know how many more years of eligibility does he still have at YSU?

He should have 2 years.  He was listed as a sophomore at San Diego CC.

That's 8 new players Calhoun has brought in with one sitting out as a transfer.  This has to be the largest incoming class in YSU history.   These guys are going to need name tags at there 1st practice.

It's like Christmas in May.   Is there any more room at the inn ?

Noe' Anabir from Mesa CC has committed. 6-8 forward. Originally from Switzerland.

Much needed big man.   He only averaged 9pts and 5 reb per game but that's a little deceptive since he only played 17 minutes a game on a team where their leading scorer averaged 13 pts a game while averaging 19 minutes which was the most on the team.  Looks like Mesa cc coach played everyone.

Anabir should get a lot of minutes along with Haygood.  They're are only bigs.

Farmer signed with an agent and is entering in the draft. He's unable to return to college.

Thanks chief,I guess he'll be getting paid over seas.

Anyone think coach Calhoun should go after Tony Farmer 6-7 235 Garfield hts Lee college jc TX ?

I know in 2012 he went to jail on some serious charges but the kid paid his debt and did 2 yrs of juco ball.  Coach has the Cleveland connection but would there be some blow back from the community ?   I know Tressel had a history of some high risk athletes.

Rosie transferri g out too...no doubt in my mind now that Calhoun painted a picture that did not include them...thought they were questionable D1 talents at best...Calhoun and staff know exactly what they are doing...i believe 2 jucos are on their way...this staff has too many contacts to not bring in better talent than the 3 that are leaving

Wow Rosic is gone too.   He was our back up big who was more suited to play on the wing based on his size and euro style of play.   Rosic & Williams both only had one year left so maybe this was mutual ?   Coaching staff has to have a game plan.  If no juco then the frosh will be playing some serious minutes.

I also thought Rahim would excel in this style.   He's going to be a senior so we only had him for this up coming season.   He's a great weak side shot blocker.   We need another big.  Not sure this late in the game there are any bigs out there but Calhoun has showed that he can find players.

I don't think he's a walk-on is he ? Latin Davis leaving freed up another scholly.

Verbalcommits.com lists his status as walk on.    I read on one site that he was ranked the #4 player in the state and on another had him ranked 8th.   anyhow, how often do we talk YSU basketball in May ?
