YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: NDSU v YSU Lets get it on !!
« on: October 06, 2012, 10:19:16 AM »
The game was mentioned about 10 min in on ESPN College Gameday.  Corso picked NDSU (he has no clue who they are) & Desmond Howard picked YSU, because he said he's from Ohio

Football message board, Be polite if you join folks

gonna be a Huge game, UNI needs this win pretty bad otherwise they could be 1-3 and 1 game into confrence play, they really cant afford a loss next week if they want to make the playoffs, meanwhile YSU hasnt beaten them since 1998 IIRC but last year if they had a 6'2 RB insted of 6'3 the story might be a little bit diffrent

hopefully we see the 2nd half D for all 60 minutes next week

IIRC YSU last beat UNI in 2000 28-24 at the Ice Castle.  They also beat UNI at the UNI Dome in 1999

EDIT-  I was correct http://ysupenguins.com/football/historyfootball.pdf

YSU is 6-20 all time vs UNI

I was intrigued by the young Kehres, until 45 checked in.  As a player on one of our National Championship teams, his credentials at football analysis exceed those of anybody else on this site.

When you are looking at Mt. Union's accomplishments, staggering as they are, remember one thing.  Unlike the scholarship divisions, there is no limit to the number of players that can try out for that team.  They start with some ridiculous figure like 200 players and go from there.  Every high school player in Ohio that is not good enough to acquire a scholarship would have Mt. Union first on his wish list.  Kehres also benefits from a handful of players who could make it on the D2 or even D1 levels but, for whatever reason, choose to be a whale in a small swimming pool.  So in every game that Mt. Union plays until the championship, they have an enormous talent advantage.  That edge disappears against Whitewater who seems to corner the market on non-scholarship Wisconsin/Minnesota players.  Bottom line is that it is somewhat dangerous to expect that coaching excellence at Mt. Union would translate to the scholarship divisions where the advantages in player procurement evaporate.

my 3 NC at UMU>>>>1 NC at YSU

whats your point? does that mean i have 3 times the credabillity LOL YSU45 was nothing more then a butthurt bench warmer at fitch, couldnt care less about his YSU NC ring

45 doesn't need me defending him, but I believe he has more than 1 NC ring.  So Wildcat, did you play for Mount?  What are you credentials besides saying the same thing over & over?

Tressel and a Bowden at Akron, never thought I'd see that.  St Tressel will do ok as long as he doesn't have anything to do with the Compliance Dept

I've been to many UofMU games and yes they do dress around 200 for home games.  They have a freshman team also that travels which I think a lot of DIII programs have

As far as tuition, I took a football visit there back in 1988 (Kehres 2nd year there) and I remember Admissions going over all the extra grants I could get as a student athlete to offset the high tuition.

Agreed, YSU45 is correct on his analysis.

nope wrong
look at Kehres history in college, that says it all right there

/thread

ysu45 is full of sh** who was nothing more then a butthurt benchwarmer at fitch

not sure why so many morons think Kehres sucks when his college coaching history proves you 100% wrong

its ok its just another board where i automatically become the best poster, this is nothing new

You don't get out of your mama's basement much do you?  Step away from the keyboard and get back to your video games

As great as Mt Union's program is, YSU is not going to hire a DC from a small time program.  They'll go after a bigger fish

Wildcat
Hes not a good coach. His Daddy is a good coach. He won't be the DC at YSU. I don't care about the records.

yeah he's a fanastic coach
nobobdy gives a sh** if you care about the facts or not, the records still stand
you must have been a butthurt 3rd string bench warmer under him at Fitch

the FACT remains, Larry Kehres has not touched the D since his son took over

but keep trolling along, showing you dont know jacksh** what your talking about

Not sure who you are, but 45 knows his stuff & played big time football for a National Championship team.  I'd say you're the troll.  Don't bash someone for giving their opinion

the last 25 seconds of the 1st half is the reason we lost
that simple

You're full of crap.  A pressure buckling QB "Passes 17-35-2 int's" and an ineffective "O" that can't catch a pass lost this game.  The D held them to 30 yards rushing!  DEFENSE always beats OFFENSE.

no im not full of crap your just one of the most ignorant least knowledgeable posters i have ever seen in my lifetime

Defense NEVER beats offense, Never in CFB has it happened, Never will. thats a 100% fact.  letting a team score ANY time they needed to will get you beat

its ok though, your a child who just argues no matter how often your always proven wrong, your opinion is irrelevent

LOL. Are you trying to be funny?  Wow!

The sad thing is he's serious!

There's no arguing with a delusional bucknut fan Big D.  Most of them think they should get a slap on the wrist from the NCAA and they are already being punished by firing their cheating coach.  He's been a cheater for years and finally got caught and look where their program is now because of him and the players he was "protecting"

For all you Tressel apologists out there, why wasn't he at the game yesterday to celebrate one of his first big achievements with his former players he supposedly cares so much about?  Too busy to show up?

you do know he has an NFL job he has to keep up with right? just sayin

I'd say you're the one that's clueless Jr.  As Indy said, quit cluttering the board with the Tre$$le and O$U crap

LOL i really hope your just acting stupid and really arent this clueless
he still works with the team, he is just not allowed to be in the booth or on the sidelines on the sundays

do some research before you post next time so you know what your talking about
He was suspended for 7 games so therefore he's not working for the Colts right now...just sayin
