I thought 3 weeks was a long wait, but time marches on quickly. The championship game is just around the corner. The excitement will be starting Wednesday when the team flies to Plano, Texas.
I envy all you going to the game, I have been at the 91 and 93 games and those were great!

To the gang going:

BRING HOME A WINNER!!!!

GO YSU PENGUINS

Wow what a game! The true heroes of that game was our offensive line who gave holes for a darting Jodie Wells and a defense that stopped Wofford twice without scoring in two OT's.

Wofford played a smash-mouthed game and kept the pressure on. Of course. we helped with several turnovers, missed-kicks and blocked kicks. I wonder what the score would have been without our miscues.

I am still ecstatic we won!

Next is Eastern Washington.

go guins: Wofford is a small college with an enrollment of 1613 students for the 2016/2017 term. It is a very expensive school, so I would guess they have the money. They also have a full compliment of 14 other division 1 sports.
They can support all their sports and facilities with 1600 students, it has to be expensive.

It would be great if 15,000 people came to the game Saturday. Chances are 10,000 at best; the weather could be a high of 32 degrees and we have many older fans that will stay away. It would be great to have 12,000+ and many students that make a lot of noise!!

What ever the amount:  GO YSU PENGUINS!!

I watched the game via ESPN 3 and I noticed they have 3 levels of loge seating (probably totally filled), then the one end zone seating was about 75% filled. My guess; the actual attendance was somewhere between 7,000 to 9,000.

What ever YSU played a fantastic game against a very good running QB and offence. Way to go  YSU!!!

Okay Penguins your on a roll, so keep focused and win another big game!! This should be a close one and the defense can bend, but don't break. Wright could be a big plus.

Another great 4th qtr catch against Marshall was Ray Isaac's pass to Trent Boykin for 55 yds; it was an over the shoulder catch with double coverage. There was Herb Williams fantastic 33 yd catch in the end zone.

Thru the Tressel years there were many great catches in the play off games; Mark Brungard threw a 39 yd pass to Don Zwisher against Idaho to set up a touchdown run by Tamron Smith.

I have nearly all of YSU's championship and playoff games on VCR.

Wow! 34 points at the half. The offense either found it or MSU has no defense. The YSU special teams is the only part that has made some major blunders.

GO YSU!!!

It looks we may be able to win two of these weekend's games. Jacksonville lost to Air Force by 18 points; Fla. Int'l lost to Stetson by 15 that is the possible 2 wins.

South Alabama defeated UNLV in Vegas, they appear to be toughest team in this tournament. I would be happy with 2 wins.

Coach Slocum has usually been a slow offensive tempo, many passes prior to shouting type coach. When Marcus Keene came, he brought that quick very up tempo offensive style. Coach Slocum used his slow offensive approach which hindered Keene. Marcus could have been a big scorer at YSU; then the Ryan Webber/Keene fiasco happened and both players exited the YSU program.

Now here comes in Cameron Morse, another very up tempo player and Coach Slocum is still using his slow down system on Cameron. Morse played 265 min. as a freshman, yet he did score 102 pts.

During Cameron's 2nd year, Slocum changed his strategy and allowed Morse to use his up tempo and he responded with many 20 pts/game. I give credit to Slocum for allowing Morse to play his type of game. Now this year Cameron has been amazing!!

We are still in need of a big man who can get rebounds & score against good competition, if we are going to be a factor in the Horizon League. I agree with "ucf"; Cameron and Marcus on the same YSU team would have been awesome to watch.
