How long is IMAN out??

I heard 2nd semester which doesn't give a clear date.  Pretty sure he had a break in one of the bones or a fracture.

Despite how the board feels I don't think Phillips is going anywhere.  His mandate is to kill it in the portal and to not get beat down with attrition with any decent returners.  I'm all in but can't have a 2nd year in a row with this type of results.   Defense has to go up a level which is a no-brainer comment.

Well a small victory for us.  Taking Syracuse into Double ot. Just ran out of gas and bodies.   We actual hit 8 3s and battled them really good.  Just ran out of bodies. Way too many fouls called on both teams.  Next game Monmouth and they are no slouch they have played a brutal.schedule so far.

I think those 3 games down in Texas will give us a good indication of what the team has.  Watched Presbyterian and they were decent haven't seen Monmouth or SF Austin.  Probably no TV coverage except for the Stephen F Austin game.   Would love to be greedy and get a sweep but not sure if that will happen.

Too bad Zorgvol is out.  Would of really helped with Gabe on the bench although Kirkland seem to hold his own.

Not only that he was pushed offensively on the play before that!  should have been an offensive foul!  Instead he gets two free throws!  Poorly officiated game in favor of the Cuse!

He should been hit with a tech for multiple times taunting.

Tough loss and the team will grow from this.  Had a few chances and the refs didn't help although I'm not pinning that on them.  Need better help defense when one guy continued to beat his man off the dribble.  Nice game from Gallette,Farmer, and Harper.  Maxey played well down the stretch.

The refs not helping YSU any.  That last foul called on Dynes when he was pulled down was ridiculous.

!00%.  Dynes got chocked out and they call him for the foul.  BAD!!

Miracle that we're in double ot.  Maxey with two 3 pointers.  Down 8 with a little over a minute with the rally.

Can't make a low throw to Dynes in that situation.  Felt like we had this game about 10 times.

Up 7 at half.  Trying to not get too excited.  Do not expect Syracuse to keep on missing 3s.  Defense especially switching is going to make or break this game.  I was tough on EJ the first two games but he has carried the load the first half.

Penguins actually showing their offense.   Dynes gets two early fouls and it opened the post for Syracuse.  This is where we miss Zorgval.   EJ doing a nice job off the curl. Like him 15 feet in opposed to shooting 3s.  Long way to go.

YSU is ranked 344th out of 345 D1 teams in three point shooting at 19%.  (saw that on Syracuse message board) It's only 2 games but they need guys to step up and hit shots.  Just saw YSU was 183 on Ken Pom ranking and the only Horizon team ranked ahead of us was Ft Wayne at 123.  Only throwing it out there and we all know it's way too early to really care about rankings.

In two games YSU is 8 of 41 from three which is 19.5%.  Is it too early to worry about or is it just early season jitters?  Need 3 point shooting and not sure we have recruited that type of player that Oakland had last season and they had two guys that lit it up last year from 3 and it seems they always have a guy that hit them.

Was hoping YSU would put up a fight last night after their 20 point win in the opener and maybe OSU is that good. Let's be honest every player on our roster with an exception or two would be deep backups at OSU.

Too early to get a feel on how good the Penguins will be this year and going to Syracuse Saturday is going to be tough.  Thought Chris Carroll looked decent last night but need to have Farmer and Jason Nelson hitting shots.  Nico will be good going against Horizon league talent and not the size of a big 10 team.  Same with Harper who should have some big nights this season.

Hard to get a read on Kirkland and Wilkerson although Kirkland has played hard in his few minutes off the bench.  Siem Uijtendaal has struggled in both game and my expectations was that he would be a key player. Maxey like the rest struggled last night after sparking YSU against Chicago State.

I think we'll get a good understanding of this team when they play their three up coming games in Texas against similar mid-major opponents.

Hate to be the guy to say this but EJ Farmer is 1 of 19 in two games.  He needs to come of the bench.  It's early but you need to produce.  More Chris Carrol . He's been impressive.
