I have always been a big fan of JoePa, I respected his loyalty and class.
The last couple of months were unfortunate to say the least but I have no doubt that his legacy will be based on the 99.99 of good that he accomplished in his lifetime.

Now I see why Coward Moore punked out the scheduled game with Chicago State University.
Cannot even beat the lowly Youngston State Pengins ?

At least we didn't have to sit through one of our patented "prevent offense" games where we lose the game in the last 2 minutes.
The Cleveland State game was expected, since they are 15-20 points better than us, but Youngstown Friggin' State??? Last year didn't some people on this board call for YSU to be exiled from the Horizon League due to their perennial doormat status? They were dragging the rest of the conference down, etc., etc. Now who's the doormat?

Last evening while driving home over the South Avenue bridge I noticed that there were as many cars in the Covelli Center lot as there were parked for our basketball game in our tailgate lot. What was the Covelli attraction? Hockey. Junior hockey played by teenagers! So our college basketball program is about as popular in this community as high school-aged hockey! So how can you get people to support a product that they do not like or care about? You can't.
I do not think that basketball is any different then football, this area has some hardcore fans that will be there no matter what. Not enough to fill either venue. Lots and lots of "fans" will come and fill the seats but only when they are pretty sure we will win. Bottom line - win and they will come.
