Penguins Stay Perfect in League Play Beating Detroit

The Penguins (6-9 overall and 2-0 in the Horizon League) won the doubles point and split the six singles matches to defeat the Titans (4-11, 0-3). YSU has now won three straight matches.
In doubles play, Remi Chancerel and Silviu Mistreanu picked up a 6-1 win at No. 2 while Hugo Morth and Bassem El Mekawi won by a 6-3 score to take the point.
In singles, Chancerel continued his strong play with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Patryk Koscielski at No. 1. At No. 4, Mistreanu won 6-3, 6-2 over Jay Joshi. The Penguins dropped matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 in straight sets to the Titans.
With the match tied at three, Pereira won the deciding match beating Ismail Kadyrov by a score of 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 6 position.
YSU returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to Cleveland State at the Boardman Tennis Center. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
