Schmerin Win At No. 6 Helps Guins Subdue Wright State, 4-3

With the match tied at three, YSU's Max Schmerin came from a set down to win 6-2 in the second and 6-3 in the third to best Myles Harris who won the first set 7-5.
The Penguins picked up four singles wins after dropping the doubles point. The Raiders picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to score the point.
At No. 1 singles, Silviu Mistrean picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Hayden Joblin. The Penguins made hay in the bottom of the lineup. At No. 4, Zeeshan Ismail won 7-6 (5), 6-4 in a back-and-forth match with Jamison Clark. At No. 5, Rodrigo Campos knocked off Ricardo Pineda by a 6-3, 6-3 score.
The Penguins conclude the regular season with an impressive 12-8 mark. It is the most wins for the program since 1990-91. In Horizon League play, the Guins were 4-2. Wright State falls to 12-10 and 3-2.
The Penguins are next in action at the Horizon League Championships which start on Friday in Indianapolis.
