Mistreanu, de Man Tabbed Horizon League Tennis Standouts of the Week

It is the second honor of the season for both.
Mistreanu went 4-0 on the week as the Penguins beat UIC 6-1 and Valparaiso 7-0. The sophomore won at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1 and No. 3 doubles 9-8 against the Flames and beat the Crusaders 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
He is now 4-1 in Horizon League play at No. 1 singles and 10-6 in dual play. The win over UIC was the team's first in conference play and their first since March 1985. Youngstown State has won 10 matches for the first time since 1990-91.
The Penguins are scheduled to play Duquesne and Wright State this week.
de Man also went 4-0 on the week. In a team loss to UIC, she won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and 9-8 at No. 2 doubles, YSU's lone doubles win in the match. In a 7-0 win over Valpo, de Man won at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-0 and at No. 3 doubles 8-0.
The freshman has now racked up 13 consecutive singles wins and is 6-0 in Horizon League action. The Penguins' 13 wins are the most since 2004-05.
Youngstown State returns to action at Wright State this Friday.
