Penguins Breeze Past Bonnies 7-0

In singles play, YSU won in straight sets in all five matches that were played. At No. 1, Paula de Man improved to 9-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Fatya Amiri. At No. 2, Margarita Sadovinkova earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Marissa Brossard. At No. 3 singles, Marta Burak won 6-3, 6-0 over Kathryn Kvas. Annina Brendel won a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Riley Archer at No. 4 singles while Tijana Raicevic picked up her first collegiate dual win at No. 5 singles over Jillian Hammell, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles play, de Man and Lauren Hankle won 8-0 at No. 2 while Burak and Sadovnikova won 8-3 at No. 1.
With the win YSU improves to 7-4 on the season.
YSU heads south to Louisiana for its next match on Sunday against Idaho in New Orleans. The Vandals are coached by Myraim Sopel, sister of YSU assistant coach Mikael Sopel.
