38-31  YSU

High scoring.  Each side with a couple turnovers.

This is another game we could easily lose. ISU-blue has not had a "full compliment" due to injuries. They have been competitive in every game including the game against Purdue. We will be focused on stopping the run with Bell. Since our DL has not shown me much (except when the coaches played the younger kids in the 2nd half of the Siu game they got penetration) we may be playing the LB's close to the LOS to help stop Bell.  This is going to leave the underneath routes open, and our secondary does not play disciplined enough not to bite on a fake.  Evidence last year when NDSU ran the pitchback to the QB for a TD, and this year when SIU ran a double reverse pass that went for a TD. We will need to play better on the LOS because this team is better than SIU running the ball. This will set up play action and leave underneath routs open if we can't disrupt the passing game. I think the trick here will be to keep them one dimensional. The other issue is TOP. They will get some and try to shorten the game. Since they are at home, we may find ourselves in a similar situation as last week.

Both teams are similar in that they are oscillating between fabulous moments and massive let downs. Add to the mix that it's homecoming there and ISU will be charged up. Hard to predict. If YSU comes out focused and mentally tough, this could be an easy win, but outside of the second half of last week, when have we seen this YSU team focused and mentally tough?  Hopefully YSU will build on last week's success, not forget it.

I personally think INSU has regressed since last year when we played them. They have a great rushing attack, but a passing game not anywhere close as SIU's. If we contain their backs, as we are capable of doing, I think we will come home with a comfortable win.

Since this is the MVFC, you know it never is easy, especially on the road. I think Shakir gets 80-90 yards, but their offense as a whole struggles to move it against our DL.

INSU 17

Two years ago we made Bell a national FCS celebrity when he went off for touchdown runs of 62, 39, 61, and 51 yards, all in the first half.  After that nightmare of a first half, we then outscored Indiana State 41-9 over the last six quarters in 2011 and 2012.  We had little trouble scoring against an Indiana State defense that had pretty good talent in those games.  Much of that talent is gone.  Apparently, they have also now sustained several injuries on that side of the ball.  Hard to imagine that they could stop our balanced attack if we don't turn it over.

But as Spiderlegs has mentioned, our primary concern is our focus.  Have we ever seen a Wolford team perform with maximum effort and concentration for two games in a row?  It better start right here.  Win Saturday and it is clear sailing to 8-1.

I also believe SIU is better than the trees, and the Guins only lose this game by making several mistakes.  YSU 38 to 24.

Game will be closer than we hope for. Bell did not play in two of their losses. If we contain Bell then YSU by maybe 10. If we do not contain Bell than the offense better not turn over the ball or else!!!!

Indiana State has Bell back and that will extend our defense. He will probably gain 100+ yards. It should be a high scoring affair because both defenses have not shown they can stop good offenses.

I still do not trust our defense; yes they stopped SIU the 2nd half of last week's game, but a big turnover at the end stopped SIU. The game will depend on critical turnovers and if we get pressure on their QB. If their QB is mobile & can scramble it may be a long day for us.

Wow, it hasn't been that long ago when the trees were the doormat of the conference let alone one of them in entire  FCS football. They have done a nice job turning that ship. They have a much improveed team with a run the ball mentality.  Good for them.
