Scouting Indiana is reporting YSU has offerred Hammond Bishop Noll SF Ronnye Beamon

https://twitter.com/#!/ScoutingIndiana

The tweet also references interest from Liberty.

Noll was state runner-up during Beamon's junior year, losing a one point game to Indianapolis Park Tudor, led by Indiana recruit Yogi Ferrell.

Noll was 19-4 this year, losing in the tournament to eventual state runner-up Gary Bowman (led by DePaul signee DeJaun Marrerro and two other Division I signees).  Beamon averaged 14.4 points and 5.2 rebounds this year.

Older research indicates he had quite a few offers at the start of this school year.  Not sure what happened - whether he waited too long for something better and got shut out of these or soemthing else.

The Indy Star reported a year ago that he had offers from Evansvilee, Indiana State and Valpo.

Indiana Recruiting Guide reported offers from those 3 schools as well as Lehigh, Illinois State, Jacksonville, Cleveland State and Northern Illinois

And a story from the Northwest Indiana Times from last summer

Here is his highlight tape, looks good to me on film. Good shooter from the outside, has nice a body to go with his 6-4 frame, can rebound, block some shots. Seems like a good fit! I also like the fact that he is not afraid to take the big shot. Lost his state championship game but he took the final shot even though he ended up missing it. I like this kid

Beamon to visit Loyola on Tuesday

That worries me. It is easier to get into a Catholic University (on full scholarship) that it is to a public, when you attended parochial HS. It has something to do with the associated costs & what is considered a full-ride. Although that was so many years ago (1940's), that that may not apply anymore. My uncle was a star QB for Ursuline (back in the day). They were ranked in the top-10 nationally two those years in-a-row. He ended up going to Marquette, over several public colleges.

I don't know if that was ever true.  It is easier to get into a public university than it is a private university due to state mandated lower admission standards for public schools.

Guys, I can help you out here.  Private schools set their own admissions standards.  They can let in anybody that they want.  Most schools, of course, set high standards, but about twenty years ago even Harvard and Yale admitted foreigners who barely spoke English because they considered that the trendy, politically-correct thing to do.

As you know, the key for athletes is establishing NCAA eligibility with that test score.  If he does that, any public or private school will undoubtedly welcome him with open arms.

If Beamon is signing at YSU is true: WOW! That would make this a great recruiting class. Now it will be up to Slocum to make them gel. This could be a very good team. :)

Everybody brace yourself and prepare for incoming artillery!  Wait until the 6'10" or bust crowd hears about this "wasted' scholarship. :P

This signing is absolutely rediculous. We can't afford to waste scholarships on 6'4" athletic basketball players. We need 7'0" players. Slocum refuses to sign any of them even though there are hundreds out there trying to get into YSU. I will seriously consider not renewing my season tickets.
