Playoffs

MVFC only gets two in the playoffs.  7-4 Ill. St not in the dance. They took 7-4 E. Kentucky ahead of them.  MVFC once again not respected.

Here is the Bracket

Looks like 7-4 was bad.  EKU and JMU only.  TN Tech 7-3 ??? 10 game schedule worked ???

Oh well I guess having Mr. Strollo at the Indy meeting for the selections don't help the MVFC.  That means the people on the other boards can STFU about a bias.

Next year we roll!!  GooooGuins!!!!!!!!!!!

Tennessee Tech won the OVC auto bid, so 10 games or 11 did not matter to them

As the results came in yesterday, I expected James Madison to get in.  EKU is the head scratcher for me.  OVC ranked very low, hasn't been a player in the post-season for a long, long time.  I thought Illinois State would have made it over EKU, but truth is neither one of them had a good win.

Glad that this season at least got me paying attention to the playoffs again - but its a lot more fun with YSU in.

I guarantee you had we won yesterday we would have been selected instead of E. Ky.

5 teams from the CAA ...what a disgrace the selection committee should again be ashamed.

If all three MVFC teams on the bubble hadn't choked yesterday, I think JMU and EKU are sitting home.  Illinois State would easily have been.

When you get down to comparing 7-4 teams its hard to say what the differentiating characteristics are.  I wish the Vindy or the Trib interviews Strollo to get some insight on what things the committee looks at when trying to differentiate between the last handful of teams.  Not a why EKU over Ill State discussion, but what makes teams tandout.

I'm too lazy to look this up, but I assume that Eastern Kentucky lost to a FBS team; therefore they finished 7-3 in the eyes of the committee. (just like we and ISU would have had we not choked.)  Conversely, Illinois State did not play a FBS team and lost 4 FCS games.  That is what did them in.  No conspiracy.  Indy is correct.  Had we and the Sycamores done our jobs, there would have been four from the MVFC and four from the CAA.  No James Madison or Eastern Kentucky.  We have nobody to blame except ourselves.
