Eugene, Ore. - Youngstown State senior Conner Neu finished 13th in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field.

It marks the second time in his career he received second-team All-America status on the outdoor circuit.

Neu registered a throw of 66.33m (217-7) on his second throw which left him in fourth place following the conclusion of the first heat.

Neu fouled on his first try before finishing with a toss of 65.98m on his third and final attempt of his collegiate career.

The results of the second heat knocked Neu down to 13th place, the best NCAA finish of his outdoor career. As a sophomore in 2014 he finished 15th with a mark of 63.61m.

Winning the event was Oklahoma State's Nick Miller who had a winning throw of 73.98m on his last attempt. Miller had a pair of throws of 73 meters plus at the championships.
