Second, you obviously don't know who I am.  I have spent the last 35 years associated with Wright State University as a student athlete, alumni, assistant coach, board member, father of 3 student athletes, season ticket holder, and as a donor.   So you are wrong on just about every one of your statements above about me.  I did play basketball and baseball for Wright State when we were still D2.  I coached at Wright State for 3 years after I graduated.  I was also a board member at Wright State for 8 years until the time constraint became too much with my own business.  As a board member I have helped hire presidents, faculty, ADs, and I have helped hire and fire more coaches than I care to remember.  I have also donated a small fortune to Wright State over the years.

I think he forgot to mention that he once saved a dog from a burning building and is allergic to Kryptonite.

Really, we are to believe that someone with all the credentials listed would troll another board and be crass enough to suggest that another teams coach "sucks".

But to your point guinpen, Jim stills loves Youngstown and has many friends here. He would be a big supporter and ally for YSU joining the MAC conference.

Thanks for keeping it simple and to the point I was making.

I honestly do not recall who does the voting, the Pres the AD or someone else, but when YSU was not invited to join the mac, akron and kent were thought to be the reasons. If JT takes the akron job would he not be in a position to "help" YSU if another try is made?

OK, now I am really, really angry.  Martin Abraham was, by far, the most qualified "traditional" candidate on that list.  If you have been following the presidential search here on this thread, you know that Let's Talk and I have been campaigning for Tressel as president and Abraham as provost, with Abraham receiving excellent pay and complete control over academic affairs.  Well, our trustees failed to name Abraham to the list of six finalists.  He is light years superior to the nonentities that made the cut with Tressel, including the obligatory woman, someone that works for NASA, and another that runs a freakin' school for the blind!  What do these trustees plan to do if Tressel accepts the Akron job, now that they have thoroughly alienated their best academic choice?  I guess this is what happens when you allow politicians, Republican and Democrat, to appoint people to vital positions of power.

I have not seen the list but all I can say is that I agree.

Ok so I will play the devils advocate. Did JT apply because he really wants the job or did he apply as a courtesy to all those folks that were pushing for him?

A disturbing article, but we are hearing only the players' side in this mess.  Barnes wisely will not debate it in public.  I have always believed that scholarships should be a four year commitment not easily broken by coaches or players.  I do wish that our coaches would stop allowing local kids to walk-on when they know that DI talent is lacking.  Hvisdak would have been much happier if she had gone to a Westminster or a Mount Union right out of high school.

I agree, so far just 1 side has been heard, and maybe that is all we will ever know. You have to give a new coach the freedom to build his team. If anything it sounds like, if true, he is a little rough around the edges. Move on and win and this article will be forgotten about quickly.

Local media is reporting that Tressel has applied for the YSU presidency.

I will say that I am surprised.

Taylor Hvisdak and Amanda Barger are also transferring according to Dana Balash.

Not surprised, writing was on the wall. Taylor's family attended well, they will be missed.

A knock on Jerry, HA.

Interesting quotes:
"I can't complain about anything from the coaches there. They gave me more opportunities than I expected. I made a lot of strides developmentally from my freshman to sophomore year."

A compliment to Jerry, HA.

I noticed that also, seems to be covering both sides of the fence.

Interesting quotes: "One of the biggest factors for me in the next school will be from an overall basketball standpoint, where it's ultra-competitive and you'll be pushed to the limit. Also a place where the coaching staff has instilled a positive culture and where other people want to be."

Hummm interesting comment

The magnitude of this loss depends upon this young lady's health.  Some reports suggested that she has Crohn's disease.  I certainly hope not as that is a life-long debilitating disease.  It would be unlikely that she could develop the stamina to play many minutes of DI basketball.

You may be on to something with the health issue.

Well I guess we now know where we stand. Give him back his 500k and rename the watts center,
He applied to Akron before Dunn even announced he was leaving. I guess he should have looked into that crystal ball that won him five titles to see our Pres was on his way back to Illinois?

I guess he should have. I do not recall seeing the date he applied to akron, what was the date?

If he applies to YSU consider my statement retracted and I will eat my words. Heck I hope I am wrong but my gut tells me to start getting donations toward the 500k.

Looks like no answer to the date he applied to akron, oh well as of yesterday he has not applied to YSU.
