YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Could we please fire Slocum now

I vote Marlon Smoke Williamson.  Detroit connection, yes.  Knows Youngstown and the program, yes.  I know he has far from the credentials we should be looking for...but no way he could be as bas as what we got.

I would think that the Horizon League would not allow UWM to participate in the conference tourney. The winner of the tourney is the automatic qualifier.
Bingo, UWM is banned from all postseason tournaments and that will include the Horizon League tournament.

believe your talking about Megan Sefcik from Fitch.  Great HS career.  When they played Lakeview last season she made that scoring machine the Bulldogs had a year ago look like an amateur.  If I recall though, I think the girl from Lakeview ended up going somewhere for soccer.

Honestly, from what I've seen...If we had to choose between Weber and Keene...I'm glad Keene is the one who stuck around.  Reminds me a little of Doug Underwood.

My friend just told me that YSU won their game at South Dakota..............that is pretty good.  Then she says they are playing again on Saturday.  She said YSU is playing Texas A & M. Now, that would be a great game to watch. She says she does not if it will be on tv. Does anyone know? Texas A & M is the really big time, ..........I think.

just a shot in the dark...1a4ysu and GoPenny the same person?
Both seem to sound like robots.
my thought exactly.  As a Penguin and Gopher fan these coaching searches are killing me.  I don't think Jerry Kill is a "sexy" choice for these bigger programs but there is nothing "sexy" about Jerry Kill....but all he does in win.

UNLV has a beautiful baseball stadium as well.  The improvments you said, I know exactly what you are talking about the enterence by the locker rooms and what not....that's where we entered from after a long hot day of tailgating and remember thinking what a dump lol.  You are right though, not the best but not the worse.

Awesome pictures of the football facility of that high school...just wow, it blows my mind.  I knew that family donated a bunch of money for that tennis facility, seen that in articles on the UNLV search (I've kept an eye on UNLV since going out to that game, the Rebel fans were very good to us in the tailgate lot so I always pull for them now).

Great to see them figuring out transportation to the game.  When the wife and I flew out, we had no clue what to do getting to the game and were looking into bussing or any other option.  Luckily the gopher website I go to (gopherhole) we had a meetup in Vegas and some Gopher fans had an extra spot on a hug conversion van so we chipped in on it, went and got a bunch of beer and chipped in on a tailgate  pass.

We are hoping to get to Vegas again soon.  So if I make it in, look out for some YSU gear :)  My wife swam at YSU and knows some people who swims at UNLV so we want go check out that facility.  She's now the head coach at Hubbard so looks like I will be at some HS swim meets this year.  :/

Don't sugar coat it, Sam Boyd is a dump, lol.  I was there for the start of the 2012 season to watch my Gophers open up.

Good call out.....Now they just need to stay away from Jerry Kill.

Some fan's in Nebraska believe that Jim Tressel is the most safe and logical choice for them to pursue as their head coach.  Reading the Husker message boards and they have even posted screen shots as Tressel being listed as the leading candidate on on-line casinos.

Another coaching situation to keep an eye on is UNLV.  I've been to UNLV for a football game and two things, they have zero fan interest, their stadium is an off campus in the middle of the desert dump, and their football facilities are laughable.

UNLV appears to be so hard up for money for a facility drive that it appears that they are seriously entertaining 30 million dollars from Fertitta family (on of the richest families in Vegas) which would be contingent on them hiring  Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas) head coach Tony Sanchez.

From what I've read, it sounds like Sanchez has zero college experience in coaching.

Obviously the UNLV athletic department has never heard of Gerry Faust.

i watched the stream online (granted on my phone) while I watched football at my friends, and seems they left a lot of points on the board with missed layups, and ect.  They played sloppy but its not a bad thing when you play at your worse and still come away with a W.

stupid fixation with HS sports, there will be twice as many people at the Liberty vs Ursuline game on Saturday night than there will be at the YSU game.
