Yeah, and now former Prez Cockroach is saying his quotes were taken out of context as well. When the heat is on, these guys are backpedaling faster than Deion Sanders. They probably said these things, but now don't want to own up to them.

As I stated in the Tressel article, I don't like to involve myself in politics. But since clowns like Guinpen and Lecter, obvious Republicans, love to bash unnecessary spending by Democrats, let's talk about fat azz NJ Gov Christie, an anti-Democrat if there ever was one, flying a State helicopter to his son's baseball game, THEN TAKING A LIMO 100 YARDS TO THE BASEBALL FIELD!!! First of all, the blimp could have used the walk. But most importantly, he tells everyone govt needs to pinch pennies, then does that??!! Practice what you preach lard azz!

Look--I could care less about politics (seriously) but my reference is to CNN article dated 1/18/09 which, in the last days of Bush's presidency, showed a poll of American people (both parties) showing 68% feeling Bush's 8 years in office as a failure and 31% viewing it as a success. So it ain't just me folks. The analogy was to show the comparative presidencies of Cochran and Bush, IN MY OPINION. No politics involved.

I gave money to football players.

I bought them food and drinks.

I employed them.

A few of them drove my cars.

When should I resign?  And from what?
Don't you have to work first before you can resign??

YSU Penguin Athletics / Tressel SI article
« on: May 30, 2011, 09:30:32 PM »
Is now available online at SI.com. As far as YSU goes, pretty much just rehashes the Ray Isaac/Mickey Monus situation, although it indicates Monus may have employed several YSU players. Disgruntaled former YSU Prez Leslie Cockroach is quoted as saying Tressel was deceitful--well moron, you were his boss, you should have done something about it. Cockroach was the George Bush of YSU presidents, inept. The overall picture painted of Tressel is not good.

Whatever happens down the road to Tressel, he could live 5 lifetimes and not spend all of the money he and his wife have. Don't worry about that or any other check.

Tressel will more than survive this. In fact, if he did not agree to 5-games in advance, he would have had less. That being said. I still do not care. I drive past "the shoe' on my way to "the ice castle". Aside from spring games, I have only been to two OSU football games ...the one against the guins. As far as Hannon's letter ...is he that much of a coward? Why doesn't he just put it on his employer's web site ...not too many programs contribute more than OSU to the United Way. People here in Columbus know what is going on. If punishment is a year or more, they replace him. However, I think many of those people do not realize that the university cannot make him AD. That is the one thing this issue did do. I guess they could, but it would be very difficult to defend the choice.
Wick and I tried to tell you that Tressel would not survive this. There was no way. It had gotten too deep and this week's SI article is only going to make it worse. And before all of the Tress' minions blame ESPN, remember this--he lied to the NCAA and they were going to make his life he11 for it. Still, we appreciate all he's done for YSU--who knows, maybe if Wolford doesn't work out.........

Slocum had an option year on his contract, which the University picked-up for the 2011-2012 season. That was not an extension. I know of no activity otherwise, Indy. He seems to be very excited about the upcoming season. Check out a 3-part interview with him on paneech.com

Pita--they don't give out any pennants in May ;) ;)--we'll talk at the first home game in Sept. and see where things stand. But the Tribe sure has been a pleasant surprise to this point.

What does ESPN, the SEC, or Cam Newton have to do with Tressel trying to cover-up and lie to the NCAA about the players. Whatever bias ESPN may have against O$U, real or perceived, doesn't alter the facts. He lied to the NCAA. And they don't like that. I am a Tressel fan as well (certainly not as fanatical as some of you), but the facts are the facts.

Special thanks go to penguinpower and the true voice of reason, 1AA fan, for exposing the real culprit in this mess--- ESPN.

Pita--don't know what you want us to do. Telling you we're proud of what he accomplished here. That isn't debatable. But he's in trouble at O$U because he lied and tried to cover something up. He brought it on himself--can't pretend like it didn't happen.
