For all of you who are complaining about DP, realistically, who do you think could come in and do a better job right now? We have a lot of complainers here with no real solutions, just complaints.

I believe the entire Volleyball non-conference schedule is on the road.

MOST of the non-conference schedule is away. First home game is against Toledo on September 20th... so they still have roughly a month to get it done. That being said, I have little confidence they'll be done in time.

Any individual stats to look at?  I didn't see any stats line.

Beau was 8-16... blah.

Dana Balash posted this photo today. Looks like they are getting close to installation:

The fact that they haven’t even started being installed yet is slightly concerning.

The idea that relevant D1 programs are coming to Beeghly is a pipe dream.  The facility is getting a badly needed face-lift.  Thank you to the donors and the previous coaching staff for getting done what the athletic department couldn't.  The landscape of college sports is nothing more then a money grab at this point!  The coaches and administration know whats going on.  Colleges are closing and money is drying up for both academics and athletics.  As a result,, doors are closing all over the country.  Kudos to the administration for navigating YSU through these rough waters so far.

Not trying to be a jerk, but what major colleges/universities have closed their doors?

Don't say Notre Dame College because their undergraduate enrollment was 1,376. And don't say Eastern Gateway because they were a community college and horribly run.

So here’s the thing… if we can’t even afford to pay a competitive salary for a baseball coach and staff which is fourth fiddle here, what makes anyone believe we’d have the funds necessary for the MAC? Food for thought.

There is a media report that assistant coach Trevor Charpie will be promoted to the top job.

On the surface, I find it strange that you would elevate an assistant from such a bad program. On the other hand, Charpie was here only one season, so he is hardly to blame for the bad recruiting and high turnover in the program.  Also, he was a minor league pitcher, and boy do we need to improve that vital phase of the game.

We shall see how this works out. Perhaps this was the best Strollo could do for this less than attractive job.

YSU “hired” another coach… he met with the team and everything and then called Strollo a few hours later to back out. This guy was the best we could do given the circumstances, and I mean no disrespect.

When did this happen

Early on in the process. It’s why they made the move to fire in the first place because they thought they had their ducks in a row for said candidate.

delusional is thinking staying in FCS a good idea. Enjoy irrelevancy and the and the 600 fans per game. Rather play on national TV a few games a year and get to a meaningless bowl game then play in a meaningless division for a meaningless playoffs they we wont ever win again either. Drop down to division II then for all that.

The fee to move to from FCS to FBS is $5 million alone. Then you'd have more money that you'd have to throw at the football staff alone nevertheless the millions you'd need to upgrade your facilities to MAC standards... YSU doesn't have THAT kind of money laying around, especially given the current state of academic programs they're cutting left and right. It's just the reality you're going to be faced with.

Some of you are extremely delusional. I have a better chance of winning the Powerball TWICE than we do going to the MAC. It ain’t gonna happen. The amount of money required alone to enter the MAC makes it infeasible.
