I think the defense and special teams are fine.

Can't believe they ran the QB so much.  He needs to be used running but not nearly as much if he is to make it through the season.  We need #12 at QB to have a chance at wins in conference. At one point in the red zone he had 2 consecutive QB draws!  Also our pass patterns and receivers on many plays are not at all open which cause the QB to throw into coverage and hope for the best.  Need to re-evaluate the offence.  Also the run game in short yardage was sure lacking.

Was at the game. Really hot which I think hurt us on the defensive front.  Pass defense is what did us in for the most part.  For the level of opponent I think our offence was ok and our run defense ok. Special teams was a pleasant surprise.

I know our defensive coaches are really top notch so I guess they thought we needed to play man most of the time and single coverage on some really tall fast receivers.  Maybe that is what made our run defense as good as it was.

As for their fans I think they were great.  Treated really well. My worst experience was the 99 championship game again Georgia Southern; really bad.  The OSU fans were not great for sure the 2 times in Columbus. Also the South Dakota fans were really nice out there.

Was at the scrimmage on Saturday and saw all the games the last many years. My vote is Davis for his mobility and arm strength and throwing ability overall.  Wells seems to have great ability when allowed to stand in the pocket and throw, probably the best of all our QB's, but that doesn't seem like much of an option with our O-Line etc.

I see that sections 100 and 101 are designated YSU sections.  Anyone get tickets through YSU to confirm the section and location so that one can be sure of the ticket choice on Stub Hub?  Any further update on prices?

See that Phil Klein was claimed on wavers from Texas by the Phillies.

I watched Ricky Davis in the Spring Game last year I think it was or the year before that and in my opinion he threw the ball well.  I saw a few throws in games last year and got the same impression; he throws well.  Maybe he can't read defenses or learn the system; not sure there.  And I don't advocate a running QB, but on third down it sure helps when no one is open or when our backs get the ball, his fake has meaning to the defense. I still think with our talent, he gives us the best chance to win compared to what we saw last year.  The two new QB's, not sure, but he looked better to me compared to them in the Spring Game.

Last year I thought Ricky Davis should have been allowed to throw more and that he would be the productive QB and win the staring job. I am coming to the same conclusion after the Spring Game.

We have small quick backs and a questionable Oline.  Without the threat of the QB run, our offense is in trouble.  Davis is very quick and willing to run and has shown he can run effectively.  And he can throw.  Wells is a good thrower, but with no run option the defenses have our number, especially late in the game.

Ricky should start with Hosick in the hunt to start or back up.  I don't think we have a chance doing the same thing as last year.

Really a great double hitter win for YSU.  In the past our pitching was not up to the level of competition for the big boys.  Watching those games shows that our pitching and defense is good and hopefully we can do well in the Horizon League.  Also good to see Kyle Benyo do well.  All 3 at bats in the 2nd game were strong with a double and 2 more hit well.  Need bats that can hit against good pitching and I think he can do it based on his history last year.

I am going.  Hope we play well. The last few games have been embarasing for the players for sure.

Lots of good play.  Kauffman made a big difference and gave us a chance inside.

Coach Barnes is a great coach, but I think we will have trouble with Green Bay and Wright State. Sara Cash is the real deal and is very important to keep out of foul trouble in these difficult games. We also need Janae Jackson in more to create offence. She seems to get into the dog house often.

I think he still has issues with his foot and as a result has limited playing time.  It would sure be an improvement if he could be on the floor.  We are getting killed in the paint.

They said on the broadcast that his grandmother passed away and he was home with family.

He has been a big contributor so far this year.

Great job by both teams.  Rare day when they both win.

Many had doubts about both teams, but things look good for now.

As I see it, with our O line problems and lack of a big back, we need the QB to have the threat of running to keep the defense honest and to give the QB a chance when pass blocking breaks down. Wells can't do those things so the run game is slowed and the pass game must happen fast so he doesn't get sacked. That leads to the interceptions due to the quick read needed to avoid the sack.  Pass plays never get extended with Wells.  So from what I have seen, only Davis can get us over those issues and give us a chance to win against top opponents.  Not sure what his other issues are, but the coaches must think they are significant.
