I am worried about that stomach flu spreading.

Not saying that a win against indy would get us in but there is always a chance. Biggest wildcard for us is the Pitt card.

It is hard to tell how many were in the loges but 3500 to 5000 would be a safe guess. Basically what you saw Sat was the hardcore fan base.

I like the thoughts of winning out and getting in but the win over team choke does not look like the feather in our cap that it did 4-5 weeks ago. they suck

Be careful what you wish for.

Heacock was fired to the utter delight of many on here.  In fact, people are STILL bashing him if you read all of the threads.  Heacock coached here without the infusion of  money that magically appeared when Wolf was hired.  What could H have done if he could have paid his assts more than $40K?

I like Wolf but he should get some mentoring from an older hand in the off-season.  Yes, he will still be here.

As for the recruiting.  Obviously we are over-looking football players for athletes.  That has to stop.

always the sage - good post

Don't worry we won't have the fans to blame next weekend because nobody will show up.  Thanks Wolford and Strollo for the biggest meltdown this year in college football.

My group will be there win/lose rain/sunshine hot/cold - we always are. Never leave until the clock reads 0.

The fans are responsible for today's debacle in South Dakota.  They did not stand up in front of their televisions nor did they scream with appropriate passion. 8)

YSU Penguin Athletics / So who are we
« on: October 27, 2012, 10:07:17 PM »
Are we the 4-0 team that started out looking like gang busters or the 0-4 team that cannot seem to do anything right.

Same players, same coaches.

The players have lost their confidence, their swagger, they are trying to hard and making mistakes they normally would not make. Talent is there on offense, maybe the talent on defense is not quite there but enough to get us further then we are.

maybe the same is true for the coaches, maybe they are trying to hard, but they are being paid and the onus is on them to restore order. Playoffs are history but a strong finish will go a long way in helping the program and future recruiting.

Wolf is the man at the top and therefore he needs to be the one to take charge and take responsibility. Stop beating down the players, he needs to restore their confidence. Coaches are getting out-coached most games, they need to get the job done or get a new job. He and Strollo need to do lunch and have a serious talk

Sorry if I am stating the obvious.

I think that the defense played good enough to win.

Wolf is good at recruiting but he still needs to improve his game day coaching skills. Step one is to realize his weaknesses so he can work on them.

One problem with that guinpen ...he is the head coach and NEVER should have been hired without these skills. I also have very serious doubts about his recruiting skills. He recruits well for a track team, but this is football.

Ok, but here is the problem, how do you know if they have those game management skills unless they have been a head coach before. Now we also need someone that can recruit on the Division 1 level. We do not have the money to hire a proven head coach at the D1 level. So do we take a chance on a proven D2 coach and hope he can recruit D1 or hire someone who can recruit D1 and hope on the game management skills.

I certainly have not given up on Wolf, but I do think that, just like his players ( or any players for that matter ) he needs to recognize his weaknesses and work on improving them.

I sat there and watched the whole game and I cannot believe what I saw.

We are not that bad.

Players look lost, coaches looked even more lost. We get out coached second half every game. Wolf needs to take the blame and do some soul searching.

Shakir Bell will get 300 yards on our defense for sure.

I don't care if he gets 400 as long as we win the game.

Heard Wolf on the radio tonight and I wish he would have bucked up and taken the blame instead he said the players need to cut the mistake ( or something to that effect ).

4th and 14 was his call.

Coaching staff needs to answer for this train wreck.

I agree.
