At least one of the teams is a finisher..... Although young and inexperienced, Slocums team finishes just like Wolfords......

Women's basketball is the only thing going for YSU these days. Slocum and Wolford need to go. We've found our guy in Barnes.

I went to the women's game.  Two of the freshmen guards start and look very good.  Arbanas had 25 points in her college debut including 8-9 shooting.  Benjamin is by far the fastest player that we ever had.  She breaks the press by just dribbling through or around it.  Unfortunately, she hurt her leg.  Don't know how seriously.  The other freshmen played sparingly and are not ready for prime time yet.  That is not to say they won't help us by mid-season.  They all have impressive credentials.

All five starters scored in double figures.  Now this team will have growing pains.  Niagara is not good.  Tall teams will hurt us inside.  But we recruited big height for next season and the future looks bright.

I saw it. The women played hard and showed a lot of talent. Still made a lot of mistakes and often had problems finding the handle on the ball and breaking the press, but it's a young team. Barnes did a great job last year improving the level of performance of his team as the season went on, and this team looks a lot more talented.  I think great things are ahead over the next two or three years.

This, by the way, is the thing that differentiates Barnes from Wolford and Slocum. Barnes is a genuine teacher. You don't see this from W. or S.
