Craig Bohl to Wyoming
« on: December 07, 2013, 10:54:01 PM »
seeing various reports tonight that Wyoming will name NDSU coach Craig Bohl as head coach on Sunday.

I assume Bohl will finish out the playoffs with NDSU.

Thought he might have been able to do better than Wyoming.

Bizarre. He has coached his last game with NDSU if this holds true:

"If report on Bohl is true; he will not be coaching #NDSU remainder of the season."

Wyoming is a bad job, but at his age , he'll get to finish his career making top $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, win or lose with the Cowboys.

This is shocking since his name had been tied to places like Nebraska and Texas.  Glad to see it.  The success of NDSU and SDSU rests entirely on the ability of their coaches.  It certainly is not their climate or their location in a prime recruiting zone.

This is total conjecture on my part with nothing whatsoever to back it up.  But my first reaction was that Bohl is escaping right before a visit from the NCAA enforcement staff.

That would explain Wyoming  a quick out.

The FCS Championship game is January 4th.  Does he not recruit for Wyoming until then, or does he divide his attention on both programs? Wyoming...after back to back National Championships and total domination of the FCS?

Strange goings on in Fargo.........

From National Football Post

New Wyoming coach Craig Bohl will be paid a base salary of $750,000 a year at the start with the opportunity to earn up to $1.2 million with incentives. His contract is for five years.

It looks like Wyoming will have a brighter future with Bohl as the HC. That should help us since NDSU will be looking for a new HC. Usually that means a new system and style which takes a couple of years to develop.

That salary increase for 5 years will be a great way to retire on.

Let's hope that he takes most of his assistants with him.  Let's also hope that NDSU gives the job to one of the assistants that he leaves behind.  We all remember how well that works.

I doubt Bohl would be involved in any "funny business" and even if he was, NCAA enforcement could care less what the non-BCS schools are up to.

I thought Bohl would wait another year or two for Pelini to blow a couple of major gaskets, but maybe he has an out-clause that would allow him to take the Nebraska job.
