YSU Hosts #1 South Dakota State

The #1 Jackrabbits come to town next Saturday for a noon kickoff. They are incredibly talented, have 5 ranked wins, and look heavily favored to defend their FCS Title in Frisco again this January.

I would encourage everyone on this board to spread the word and encourage as many YSU fans to come out and be loud and into the game as possible. We aren't competing against the Buckeyes who play in primetime, so I am hopeful we can get a decent turnout.

We need a lot of things to go our way, but that is why they play the games. Our last win over a #1 team was back in 2011 at North Dakota State.

SDSU would win every G5 conference and beat at least half of the teams in the Big Ten. That is what we are up against on Saturday. Fortunately, we have actually played a better team. We played well in Columbus, and I expect a similar effort this Saturday. But realistically the only chance we have is if SDSU makes uncharacteristic mistakes.

YSU has announced the game will be a Red Out. Regardless of what color you wear, I just hope everyone there treats this like a playoff game and is into the game from the start, especially on third downs!

I mean we are ranked below 4 teams in our conference and we have a better record. That is because we are defeating the bottom of the conference. Any loss in the remaining can drop us as low as 7th. Get out there and cheer your Guins to Victory!

Fall 2022: SDSU, NDSU, and UND made it.
Fall 2021: SDSU, NDSU, MSU, SIU, UNI, USD made it.
