not sure where teachers and corresponding unions are the reason institutions of learning are the cause of current social ills. to be fair, YSU is one of the biggest proponents and drivers to many of ytowns recent positive developments. as a college graduate, i missed the class on playing dirty with tax money but i was a design major, so there is that.
also, you all do realize freedom of speech refers to the government using its power to suppress people or institutions through policy, force or modern day extortion by threatening to withhold funding?
if the majority of a student body or faculty do not want, say as an example, white nationalists or fascists to speak on campus, they have every right to not have them. you should teach what these "ideals" are not encourage or welcome them into conversation and validation through "seeing both sides".
or is the idea of equality and opportunity for all of us and not just some of us what truly makes you angry?
