The Youngstown State women's soccer team will play an 18-game schedule in 2018, including nine at Farmers National Bank Field at the Covelli Sports Complex, first-year Head Coach Brian Shrum announced on Thursday.
The Penguins open the year with four straight home games beginning with the home and season-opener against Chicago State (Aug. 17). Over the next nine days, the Penguins also host Howard (Aug. 19), Buffalo (Aug. 24) and Canisius (Aug. 26).
Three straight road games at St. Bonaventure (Aug. 31), Akron (Sept. 2) and Fort Wayne (Sept. 7) before the Penguins return home to host Robert Morris (Sept. 9).
The Penguins open Horizon League play against Milwaukee (Sept. 14), and visit Bowling Green in the final non-league match of the year (Sept. 16).
The final eight contests are all Horizon League matches beginning at Northern Kentucky (Sept. 22) and returning home to host in-state foe Cleveland State (Sept. 26). YSU closes out the month of September at IUPUI (Sept. 29).
Two of the next three games will be at Farmers National Bank Field when the Penguins host Oakland (Oct. 6), visit UIC (Oct. 13) and play the final home game of the year against Wright State (Oct. 17).
The Penguins' final two games of the regular season are at Detroit Mercy (Oct. 21) and at Green Bay (Oct. 26).
The Horizon League Championship is slated to run Oct. 29, Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.
