Penguins Earn Two Victories Beating Robert Morris, Chicago State

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up two impressive wins over Robert Morris and Chicago State on Saturday at the Pine Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club.

YSU won all 12 singles matches and all five completed doubles matches on Saturday. Of the 12 singles matches, 11 wins came in straight sets.

Penguins who won twice were Paula de Man, Margarita Sadovinkova, Marta Burak, Carolyn Jesko and Annina Brendel. Gimena Puppo picked up a win against Robert Morris while Lauren Hankle won a match against Chicago State.

Against Robert Morris, the Penguins won all three matches and swept the six singles contests.

In the match later in the day versus Chicago State, the Penguins clinched the doubles point with two 8-0 wins.

In singles play, YSU won five matches in straight sets while Hankle won in three.

The Penguins conclude a busy weekend on Sunday morning when they take on IPFW.
