Soccer Drops Horizon League Opener to Wright State, 1-0
Dayton, Ohio -- The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped its Horizon League opener to Wright State, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Penguins fall to 2-8-1 overall and 0-1 in the league while Wright State improves to 3-4-3 overall and 1-0 in the Horizon League.

Wright State's Emilie Fillion scored the game's only goal at the 49th minute to lift the Raiders to the victory.

Youngstown State junior goalkeeper Jackie Podolsky recorded seven saves in the loss.

The Penguins recorded five shots on goal, but each one was denied by Wright State goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy.

The Penguins return home to host Green Bay, Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
