Marissa Martin Named All-Horizon League Second-Team, Larsen Murvin All-Freshman Team

Indianapolis, Ind. -- Junior Marissa Martin was named to the 2016 All-Horizon League Second-Team and Larsen Murvin was selected to the All-Freshman Team after a vote of the league's head coaches, the Horizon League announced on Monday.

Martin, a 2014 Horizon League All-Freshman Team selection, scored a team-best seven goals and ranked tied for sixth in the league in goals scored. In league games, Martin scored six goals, which ranked second in the league, was third in goals per game at 0.67, ranked fourth in total points with 12 and fifth with 1.33 goals per game.

Her seven goals rank tied for seventh on the Youngstown State single-season list and are the most goals scored since 2011. Martin also scored seven times on just 18 shots on goal.

Martin selections the sixth straight season a Youngstown State player has been named to the all-league team.

Murvin appeared in 15 matches at defender and was credited with two assists. This marks the third straight season YSU has a member on the All-Freshman Team, and she is also the seventh All-Newcomer Team/All-Freshman Team selection since 2010.
