Penguins Drop Tough 4-3 Decision at Milwaukee
Milwaukee, Wis. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon at the North Shore Elite Tennis Club.

YSU dropped three close matches in doubles play before rebounding to win at the top three singles spots. The Panthers tied the match with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

The deciding match came at No. 4 as UWM's Chelsea Bailey came from a set down to beat YSU's Lauren Hankle 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (8-6).

In singles play, the Guins picked up points from Paula de Man, Margarita Sadovnikova and Marta Burak.

At No. 1, de Man improved to 18-1 on the season with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Maddy Soule. At No. 2, Sadovnikova earned her 17th victory of the year with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Dana Shannon. Burak won her school-record 23rd match of the year cruising past Kelly Fritz.

In doubles play, the Panthers won decisions at all three spots, 9-7 at No. 1, 9-8 at No. 2 and 8-6 at No. 3.

The loss drops the Guins to 12-8 overall and 3-1 in the Horizon League while snapping a five-dual winning streak. Milwaukee improves to 10-8 and 3-2.

The Penguins will look to bounce back when they play host to UIC on Friday at the Boardman Tennis Center.
