YSU Opens 2018-19 Season With Dual Against Duquesne

The Youngstown State swimming and diving team is set to open their 2018-19 season against Duquesne on Saturday morning at the Beeghly Natatorium. The 16-event dual is set to begin at 11 a.m.

YSU returns seniors Zsani Csado, Natalie Laurence, Rachel Shipp, Megan Stelpflug and Taylor Tofil. Sophomore Aida Jurinovics returns for the Penguins after placing second in the 200-yard butterfly and seventh in the 400 IM at last year's Horizon League Championships.

The Guins feature a large group of newcomers as 10 individuals will make their collegiate debut, including divers Tess Weiskopf and Kayla Wrasman.

YSU and the Dukes have competed in dual competition each season since 2012-13.

The Penguins' first two events of the campaign are at the Beeghly Natatorium. YSU plays host to Oakland next Friday at 4 p.m.
