Penguins Finish Sixth at Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships
Rochester, Mich. - The Youngstown State swimming and diving program concluded competition at the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.
YSU finished sixth by scoring 353 points for the meet. Oakland won the event with an impressive 827.5 points while Milwaukee was second with 628.5. A final day push moved the Guins into sixth, 2.5 points ahead of Cleveland State.
Leading the way for the Penguins was Viktoria Orosz who finished third in the 200 back with a time of 2:00.90.
In three-meter dive Bec Stafford was third with a score of 276.60 while Bethany Glick finished seventh with a 250.15.
Freshman Zsani Csado placed fourth in the 200 butterfly posting a school-record time of 2:02.77. The previous mark was 2:04.00 by Aranda.
Sophomore Madison Aranda concluded a strong meet placing sixth in the 1650 free with a time of 17:11.36.
Senior Hannah Reynolds closed out her career with a 12th-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a career-best time of 2:22.84.
To close out the championships, YSU was sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a school-record time of 3:28.03.
