Akron, Ohio - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team returned to action at Akron on Friday night. The Penguins dropped a 183-113 dual to the Zips while Ashley Dow won both backstroke events.
Dow won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.95 seconds and took first in the 200 event clocking a time of 2:07.46. She was also second in the 200-yard IM finishing in a time of 2:15.41.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Laura Paz was second with a time of 2:09.98 as well as the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.07.
Jana Janson finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.06 seconds while Therese Stevens was third at 25.33 seconds.
In the one-meter dive, Bec Stafford was second posting a score of 270.38. Stafford was third in the three-meter while Bailey Dipman was second at 215.55.
Janson was also second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.36 seconds and Stevens was third at 55.21 seconds.
Hannah Reynolds placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.96.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Megan Ciampa posted a time of 5:25.55 to place second.
The Penguins will have a quick turnaround between duals as they visit Saint Francis (Pa.) tomorrow. The dual is set to start at 1 p.m.
