Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Youngstown State swimming and diving team dropped a 149-108 to Duquesne on Saturday afternoon at the Towers Pool. Ashley Dow won twice and Jana Janson picked up victory for the Penguins.
Dow picked up wins in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke. Janson won the 100-yard freestyle in the 14-event meet.
In the 100 back, Dow had a time of 58.89 second and had a 2:05.95 in the 200 back.
Janson posted a time of 54.85 seconds winning the 100-yard freestyle. She was third in the 50 free with a time of 25.34 seconds.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the Penguins were second with a time of 3:59.29.
Megan Ciampa placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle clocking in at 11:06.58 and earned a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:24.94.
In the 200 free, Therese Stevens was second with a time of 1:58.97 and Hannah Reynolds was second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.82.
Laura Paz finished second in the 100 yard fly with a time of 59.16 seconds.
The Penguins return to the pool on Nov. 22 when they compete in the three-day Cleveland State Invitational.
