Youngstown, Ohio -- Cameron Morse scored a career-high 44 points to lead the Youngstown State men's basketball team to a 103-93 victory over Horizon League foe Green Bay on Saturday evening at the Beeghly Center.

Morse made 13-of-13 from the field and tied a school mark with 15 free throws made. His 44 points rank tied for ninth in a single-game in school, and he became the first YSU player to score at least 40 points in a game since Reggie Kemp scored 46 in 1993.

Junior Matt Donlan scored 25 points with four 3-pointers while sophomore Francisco Santiago recorded the first double-double of his career with 12 points and a career-best 11 assists. Freshman Jordan Andrews added 11 points with six rebounds and made three 3-pointers.

After the Phoenix grabbed a 48-47 lead on a 3-pointer by Small, the Penguins rattled off 12 straight points sparked by a two-handed baseline dunk by Donlan over two Green Bay defenders. During the run Morse converted two fast-break layups and a 3-pointer and Andrews added a 3-pointer to give the Penguins a 59-48 lead with 17:02 to go.

From Small's 3-pointer, the Penguins actually used a 25-4 run to push its lead to 20 points, 72-52, capped by a 3-pointer by Morse with just over 13 minutes to go.

Green Bay got within 12, 84-72, at the 7:36 mark, but the Penguins scored 11 of the next 14 points to extend their lead back to 20, 95-75, with 4:10 remaining.

The Phoenix scored five points in the final minute to get to the final score.

The first half featured eight lead changes and seven ties.

YSU jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and led by as many as nine, 16-7, before the Phoenix went on a 13-4 run to tie the game at 20-20 at the 10:48 mark.

From that point on, the teams batted through all eight lead changes and six ties and neither team led by more than five points. The Penguins owned a 45-40 lead with 1:16 left on a lay up by Santiago.

Botz made a lay up and Anthony Brown drained a 3-pointer to tie the game at 45-45, but Morse sank a pair of free throws with one second left before halftime to give the Penguins a 47-45 lead.

For the game, the Penguins shot 50.8 percent from the field, including 57.6 percent in the second half, 55 percent from 3-point range and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line.
