Kaufman's Last-Second Tip-In Lifts Men's Basketball to 100-98 Win Over Oakland

Kaufman, who recorded the first double-double of his career with 18 points and 13 rebounds, put back a Cameron Morse's missed game-winning attempt as the shot clock expired. Morse's layup hit the rim and the 7-footer tipped in the miss before officials blew a whistle.
After officials confirmed the basket, Oakland's Kay Felder's half-court shot was no good.
The Penguins, who won for the first time at the O'rena, made 16 3-pointers to improve to 6-9 overall and 1-1 in the Horizon League. The 16 triples are the second-most in a single-game in school history.
Morse led the Penguins with 23 points with six assists while junior Matt Donlan scored 19 with five 3-pointers and freshman Jordan Andrews had a career-high 18 points with four 3-pointers.
Leading Oakland, who falls to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in the league, was led by junior Kay Felder with 23 points and 14 assists. Nick Daniels scored 21 points and Jalen Hayes added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
After Felder split a pair of free throws to tie the game at 95-95, freshman Latin Davis buried a 3-pointer to give the Penguins a 98-95 lead with just under a minute to play.
Felder knotted the game again at 98-98 with a 3-pointer with 32 seconds after a missed 3-pointer by Daniels.
After Oakland called timeout and the shot clock winding down, Morse grabbed the ball at the top of the key and drove down the left side of the lane. Morse's layup rolled off the front of the rim where Kaufman tapped the ball in for the win.
A 3-pointer by Felder and a dunk by Dorsey-Walker put the Golden Grizzlies up five, 92-87, before Donlan answered with a 3-pointer and Kaufman,who scored 16 of his 18 after halftime, made two free throws to tied the game at 92-92 with 3:11 to go.
Morse split two free throws to regain the lead 95-94 with 1:39 left before Felder's free throw tied the game at 95-95.
The Penguins led by as many as eight points in the second half, 58-50, before the Golden Grizzles went on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 58-58 with 15:13 remaining. From that point, the Penguins and Golden Grizzlies battled through nine ties and eight lead changes.
In the first half, the Penguins scored a season-high 52 points, shot 50 percent from the field and 61.1 percent from 3-point range and made 11 3-pointers.
Andrews was the Penguins' hot hand scoring 16 of his 18 points before halftime and making four 3-pointers.
The Penguins twice led by as many as 12 points before hanging on for a 52-46 lead at halftime.
Youngstown State hosts Milwaukee, Thursday, Jan. 7, in the Horizon League home opener at the Beeghly Center. Tip-off is set for 7:45 p.m. and is part of men's and women's basketball doubleheader.
