YSU’s Kendrick Perry Named NABC All-District First-Team

Kansas City, Mo. – Youngstown State junior guard Kendrick Perry has been named to the 2013 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 12 First-Team, the association announced on Tuesday (March 26). Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 242 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the NABC Coaches' Division I All-America teams.
Perry, from Ocoee, Fla., was a 2013 All-Horizon League First-Team selection and averaged 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. He ranked second in the league in scoring and tied for the league lead with 1.9 steals per game.
Named to the 2013 Cousy Award Watch List, Perry ranked fifth in the Horizon League with a .845 free-throw percentage, sixth in assists per game and 10th in rebounds per game.
Perry, a 2012 second-team NABC All-District choice, became the 33rd player in Youngstown State history to score 1,000 career points and ranks 17th with 1,309. He also ranks third all-time with 170 steals and fifth all-time with 365 assists.
Perry is also the only player in school history to record 1,300 points, 360 assists and 170 steals.
Joining Perry on the District 12 First-Team were Nate Wolters (South Dakota State), Ryan Broekhoff (Valparaiso), Ray McCallum (Detroit) and Travis Bader (Oakland).
