Taylor's heroics came after the Penguins had scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5.
Alex Larivee had a pair of hits, including a two-run double in the eighth inning, and Lorenzo Arcuri had a pinch-hit, two-run triple to tie the score later in the inning.
The Penguins got a quality start from Joe King, who pitched a career-long six innings while allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. He left with YSU trailing 3-1, and Milwaukee added three runs in three innings off the bullpen.
Mike Porcaro doubled in a pair of runs with two outs in the third inning to put Milwaukee ahead 2-0. Larivee singled, stole second and scored on Brent Gillespie's two-out single in the fourth for YSU's first run, and Sam Koenig's solo homer in the fifth gave Milwaukee a 3-1 lead.
Milwaukee got two insurance runs that turned out to be crucial in the seventh off reliever D.J. Carr. Derek Peake plated Ryan McShane for the first run, and Peake stole second and scored on a two-out single by Tyler Hermann.
Milwaukee went to the bullpen to start the eighth, and Jonny Miller and Frank Califano walked to start the inning and set up Larivee's two-run double. Jason Shirley walked to put the tying run on base, and Arcuri delivered with a two-run triple to right center.
YSU closer Anthony Konders got the first out in the bottom of the ninth, but he walked Koenig and hit Hermann with a pitch to put the winning run in scoring position. Konders got Porcaro to fly out to left for the second out, but Taylor came through with a bouncer to left, and Koenig beat Shirley's throw to the plate.
Youngstown State and Milwaukee will conclude their three-game series on Sunday at noon Eastern. That is one hour earlier than the originally scheduled time due to the weather forecast.
