Baseball Drops Third Game in Samford Series

Robert Switka made his first start since May 2011
Junior right-hander Alex Milazzo allowed four hits and walked two in six innings, and Parker Curry and Cole Limbaugh allowed a hit apiece in three innings of relief work.
YSU's Drew Dosch doubled and singled, Devin Higgins doubled, and three other Penguins singled. Dosch was also charged with two of YSU's eight errors.
Tommy Corbin had three hits and drove in three runs, and Phillip Ervin and Christiaan Durdaller both homered for the Bulldogs.
Robert Switka made his first start since May 27, 2011, for the Penguins, allowing three earned runs on six hits in 3.1 innings. Russ Harless was charged with two earned runs in 1.2 innings, and Lance Horner allowed one earned run over two innings in his Penguins debut. Nic Manuppelli threw a scoreless eighth.
YSU got a runner in scoring position in each of the first two innings but couldn't come up with a two-out hit. Corbin hit a two-run double for Samford in the bottom of the second, and the Bulldogs scored six runs in the fourth to go up 8-0. Durdaller hit a two-run homer in the three-run fifth, and the Bulldogs added single tallies in the sixth and seventh innings.
The Penguins and Bulldogs will complete their four-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m. Eastern.
