Just sayin,  he played 2 years under Rollie and is from Cleveland.  Vikings coach left for the Missouri job. Probably more money and a better budget at CSU.

A Penguin for life!!!

Gates was making $550,000 at CSU, which was highest in the Horizon League.  Last year Calhoun signed a contract through the 2024-2025 season and I think was making $200,000/year.

With the exception of the money which is huge it would equate to Benedict Arnoldesque.

Any new contract awarded to a YSU coach should contain a clause that prohibits that individual from leaving for the same position in the Horizon League.  At least that is what I would do if I were the YSU AD.

In fact, I think that CSU believes that they can do much better than Calhoun. After five years when your last recruiting cla$$ was not as good as your first recruiting cla$$, that is a big red flag.
