He should be banned for his negative reporting of all YSU sports.  This yellow journalism is beyond an apology.  No wonder newspapers are struggling to be bought and read.
"They have scalelike barbless feathers, flipperlike wings, and webbed feet and by the way also excellent athletic teams"

What is "yellow" about this?  I read the two articles on Vindy.com written by this guy on Thursday.  I am not sure which article is referred to here, but I don't see the issue.  The season was a disappointment.  Wolford deserves criticism for the lackluster season.

Scalzo's analysis was comprehensive and his grades were fair.  He had the courage to state the obvious: this was just not a very good football team.  Consider our performance against the three MVFC representatives in the playoffs.  Two of them blew us right off the field.  The third overcame a 21 point second quarter deficit.  We all desperately want to see our football team return to prominence.  But three years into the Wolford era, the evidence leads sensible people to doubt that this man can accomplish this important task.

Wolford said that anything less than the playoff this year would be a disappointment.

The article is spot on. He doesn't take personal jabs and calls it as he sees it. From a fan standpoint the UNI win is where the wheels fell off. It was a watershed moment at the time, but that win may have given the fans false hopes as UNI was not the team they have been in past years.

I would have given the secondary and special teams D's instead of F's, but otherwise I thought Joe was spot on.

Tho Pete Molica was one of my favorite people
(miss him).  I have to say Scalzo is such a breath
of fresh air, because without being offensive, he
hits the nail on the head.

Scalzo is not reporting to secure someone's position for them,
he is reporting what he sees.  He walks the middle of the road,
and tells the facts as they are, not as we as fans would like
them to be.  I compliment him for this, it is not an easy task.

C'mon fans, the proof is in the pudding.

I agree on special teams because we have excellent kicker and punter. So I would go "D", and if we are not allowed pluses and minuses ...I may even go "C"

Scalzo, while "wordy" on occassion......is as good a sportswriter as there is. He identifys the topic, and states truth as he sees it. He gives praise when earned, and criticism when deserved.

Both in an appropriate way. For a young guy, he shows maturity in that respect.

He is not a lackey.....for any school in the Valley.

Some in the Vindy....can't claim the same.
