Women v. Cleveland State
« on: January 15, 2015, 10:59:27 AM »
Absolutely critical game tonight.  CSU is a bad rebounding team, but for some reason, they always hurt us on the boards.  Hopefully, with the improvement in Walker and the depth provided by Cash we can control the boards this time and make this game much easier.

+18 on the boards.  That will always work.  A little sloppy with the ball-handling and passing but really good defense again.  CSU got a lot of points late on the edge of garbage time.  Now on to a big game next Thursday v. Wright State.  Winner of that will have an early but clear advantage for second place.

IMHO, I actually thought the passing improved from previous games. Last night the women sometimes found the open post person in motion, which is a sign that they are getting used to each other. Previously, the guards had been holding (or dribbling) the ball too much and were missing lots of opportunities to hit the posts when they were open.

3-3 so far in the 7-game run that's the hardest part of the schedule. Remember when the stretch began some people were wondering if they would win any games.

Over 1,300 people last night.  More than the last men's game.  I realize it was CSU, so there were more visitors than normal, but still. . .

More fans at the women's game than the men is going to be the norm now, watch.
