YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: It’s officially Football Season

I'm sure the seasoned OC (sarcasm) we have will get the QB's ready for the fall. Is Mike Tomczak still involved with the program and if so does he help with QB development?

If you ask me this is a lot like the Phillips hire.  On the job training with limited resources for assistant coaches.  Also, I would think Faulkner has to be one of the youngest coaches in D1.  Hopefully his enthusiasm and hunger make up for his inexperience.

As I suspected just Reese is on the ysusports.com website.  So, to answer your question it appears they're gone.

YSU just needs to keep fighting "the good fight"!  You're either part of the problem or part of the solution.   The divider in chief started this BS in 08 and its trickled all the way down now.

The hire is a stretch if you ask me.  Not a ton of experience.  Doesn't mean he won't be successful. With such a quick decision it's almost as if this was the succession plan all along.

With Calhoun gone maybe just the wooden bleachers are being replaced as WKBN reported. Its possible the money line is being pulled!!!!!!!

Clearly he was ready to move on!  Not sure YSU has the money to ever compete with what has become a money grab in mens basketball. Once Wrigbt States coach left and clearly Calhoun was ready to move on its obvious we are in a different time. I think Calhoun did well by Utah State no doubt.

According to WKBN press release ONLY the wooden bleachers will be replaced as part of Phase 1 starting in May.

Most of the jobs have been filled.  Unless, he would get a shot at Marshall.

Although things have improved YSU is one of the all-time worst mens programs in D1 the last 30+ years.  The players the last two years came here for a pay day.  How sustainable is that moving forward?

If u look at the 3 game series we are only competitive in the first game.  The same can be said for last year too.  Clearly, there's a coaching issue or maybe more so a recruiting issue.  Doesn't appear that the roster has D1 talent.

She checks the boxes.  Head coaching experience.  Conference knowledge.  Now we wait to see how it works out?

You can only go to the well so many times for $$$$$.  Im sure the guys that are paying for the Beeghly upgrades are also the guys that would pay for the tournament.
