I know it's hard to compete with teams from warm climate in certain sports as I've experienced it myself.  However, 8 games into the season and YSU has been outscored 94-16.  I know they are playing up in competition but WOW!

YSU Baseball released their spring schedule.  Just curious how they afford to travel to Memphis, Baylor, Wake Forest and Kansas State?  Do they receive any compensation/gate money from these teams?

Does anyone know if anything is materializing for the 2023 non-conference football schedule?  According to future schedules we don't have any out of conference opponents.  Get pretty late in the game. Maybe the recent FBS movement will free up an opponent.

I couldn't help but think of YSU Football and the struggles that have persisted for 20 years when I read this quote from Barry Switzer.

"You can't recruit off tradition," Switzer said. "S---, 18-year-old kids don't give a damn about Bud Wilkinson, Barry Switzer, Bob Stoops. They don't know who the hell they were."

What sports do we potentially lose after just adding a few? I found a 2017 budget and nearly every team has a $500k budget. The following are far less:
Mens Golf $178k (which I thk has 6 endowed scholarships or more)
Women's Golf $220k
Mens Tennis $185k
Women's Tennis $220
Bowling $100k

I know we haven't started the 2021 schedule but what is the plan for 2023? I see we have nothing scheduled for non conference which is an issue with the way schedules are built years out now.

I saw a tweet that indicated Penn State will host YSU Nov 10th to open the season.  Any idea about other non-conference opponents?

I just read a press release about the new agreement with Nike and the YSU athletic department.  The "Business Manager" is quoted as referring to the Nike logo as a swish twice when its SWOOSH.  DO U HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOUR CRAFT STROLLO AND COMPANY? WHAT A DISGRACE THESE PEOPLE ARE TO THE UNIVERSITY AND THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT.

Whats going on with the McNeese game? On external website it is showing TBA. Until resolved BYE weeks are  Sept 18, Oct 9 and 26. Also, we only have 10 games.

The issue isnt Akron Athletics or YSU athletics or even OSU athletics in our communities. The real issue is these very teacher unions who are mentally poisoning and  financially draining  ALL communities.  These unions spew hate for athletics, indoctrinate our youth and play diirty with tax payers money.  America wake up! Defund the teachers unions to save your community.

Although nothing has been formally announced regarding the Athletic Department staffing it appears that it will most certainly be trimmed.  I cant imagine that the AD wasn't more proactive in furloughing people as soon as the university went to online studies.  To me that makes zero sense as the department works on a shoestring budget with the exception of the bloated support staff.

Where do they turn this time.  Hope its not a re-tread from OSU and Tressel days.  So many of them landed MAC jobs and failed miserably. Any idea where they turn now?
