I watched the 14 minutes of the game first time i watched in over 2 years.  I said to myself we actually looked like a college basketball team.  After dealing with Slocum I feel we are on the right path.  It’s even tougher now the way the transfer rule is.  Sign Calhoun long term and overpay him.  I think he can get us to dance in time.

We need to get bigger and faster and get some bulldozers on the offensive line.  Defensive line as well. Till we get strong up
The middle we won’t be a top tier team in the MVFC.

The playoffs are a joke.  You have teams that spend the bare minimum in the smaller leagues less schollys etc.  take out the Ivy League and HSBU schools that have their own bowl that takes out another league.  As for the rich get richer I don’t think making the playoffs makes you money.  And again being in a conference where we are always going to be a bubble team is competitive and economically a disaster as our track record has shown in the MVFC.

I agree about the playoffs being watered down.

Wins a win. The Salukis must have already knew they made the playoffs. If Crenshaws the guy get his throwing mechanics fixed.  Fix the lines and find players that can get you chunks of yardage.  Hopefully we will find another #8.

It sad for almost 35 years my fall Saturdays were all about YSU football.  It hasn’t been since 2017.  I spent lots of money supporting them.  There is so much failure here after Tressel built the program in the 90’s.  There is lots of blame to pass around not to have a vision and parley our success to either get us to the next level or be in the right conference.  Penguin club bigwigs and members were content to rub elbows and get there chance to stand on the sidelines at the castle.  Our AD and marketing dept have no vision or the balls to do anything.  We reap what we sow and now we are a bottom feeder program.  I know a few thing good things are ahead.  What does that really mean in this conference.  We have no chance of winning it for years.  We are like Vandy in tfw SEC . They can say they are in the toughest league big deal.  How many times they won it or beat Bama

The money isn’t there due to the state of Youngstown shrinking.  Companies are gone people have moved.  It will take years to get back the football attendance if it’s possible.  You diehards are stuck on being a football conference that doesn’t fit due to geography economics and fan base. Teams in our divison in football have less expenses smaller stadiums and are making the playoffs.  Being in the MVFC means sh** when you can’t compete.  It’s up to the AD to put us in a position for the athletes to be competitive to win.  We have a mediocre AD and the past 15 years we have been mediocre in most sports.  Starts at the top

We have been on a 1O year plan since Heacock left.  Recruiting will be harder with a few more teams leaving to go to FBS.  James Madison etc Jacksonville St .  This team is a mess and will be a mess for another 3-5 years.  The vision of where our program should be league wise and all the other programs is a joke. Football dynamics have changed kids that we got before under Tressel are going FBS more schools in the loop to offer etc.  The only way to get this fixed is we need an influx of cash donors and getting better coaches that come with it.  Hoping Phillips to get us to be a champion is a pipe dream.  Again Dollar General Budget gets you this product.  Wolford could recruit and what did that get us 8-4 7-5. Yes we were runner up with Pelini but it took a catch by Rader that was the catch of the decade.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Eric Wolford? Why was he let go?
« on: October 31, 2021, 12:18:42 PM »
I went back and looked at Eric’s record here.

8-4 5–3 conference tied for 2nd
7-5 4-4.  Last year.
Other then year 1 we were 500 in the conference
He was relatively young when he started.  Had a win in 11 at NDSt.  Best Pitt.

He was upgrading recruiting.  We all knew we had crappy D assistant coaches.  We are b****ing about the same thing now.

We havent had a passing game to defend since Hunter Wells graduated.  The offense has regressed since Montgomery left.
