WOW!!

Coach Barnes is doing a fantastic job! I thought this year was going to be a downer. The ladies are playing with a lot of heart and moving the ball with confidence. They are playing exciting basketball!

Great job coach Barnes and all you ladies!!

ALL this bickering , words going back and forth about coach Slocum and our team! Many of your points are indeed valid.

* The problem is we do not have the big man presence in the inside!
* We have fine guards that can score and move the ball quickly.
* The inside game with Hain and company lacks tenacity and perseverance.
* Hain can score and puts forth great effort, but lacks quickness and the ability to get high in the air for  rebounds and for defense. (He tries hard, but then he gets into foul trouble)
* Against Valpo; we were out rebounded 35 to 20. That's 15 more scoring opportunities for Valpo.
* On the defensive side Valpo scored many uncontested lay ups.
* To be a consistent winner a team has to have a strong forceful presence with the inside game.
*  If we could recruit that strong inside player, we could better than the current Green Bay team.

Belin looks completely lost, he just can't seem to get into the flow. Hain hitting nice shoots and Keene added a little spark. Keep it up YSU!

no S.Carolina or S.Carolina St. but we play NC Charlotte and Alabama St - still some good baseball teams

NDSU is awesome! They totally controlled the game with Coastal Carolina who beat Montana last week. NDSU ran through, around and over them. Then passed when the runners needed a rest.  Bohl's play calling was great and the team executed the plays well.

Brock Jensen had plenty of time to see his open receivers and connected. I don't believe the other FCS teams are at their level; they should win their 3rd straight championship.

It looks like Wyoming will have a brighter future with Bohl as the HC. That should help us since NDSU will be looking for a new HC. Usually that means a new system and style which takes a couple of years to develop.

That salary increase for 5 years will be a great way to retire on.

Good comments "Lets Talk"; that's the way it was - Akron and YSU were the only two northern schools in the OVC. When Akron left, there was a traveling concern with the other OVC schools and YSU expected to get accepted with Akron in the MAC. That didn't happen so we were independent for many years.

As I stated previously, we somehow we must get into the FBS or watch the continued decay of attendance. The MAC is were we belong, but not having the money to fund football at that level nor the support of MAC university presidents puts us in major predicament for recruiting and future fan support. So we have the MVCF and must be NO.1 or No.2 to get into the playoffs.

I believe NDSU and SDSU will be going into the FBS in the next couple of years, this will give us a chance.

Either SDSU or NDSU, our conference gets no respect!!!! The selection committee is soooo biased or maybe even paid off in some way. At least if our conference wins; there is some satisfaction.

We can kiss the playoffs goodbye. It's Zenner over, through and around us all day.

Power:

Definitely not sarcastic, I got sick of watching Ruiz try to run over 7 defensive linemen. Your analysis hit it right on the head. Also, our defensive backs rarely look back when a pass is headed toward the receiver they're covering (they're taught to keep their eyes on the receiver) thus I have seen several other opportunities for interceptions by our DB's in previous games go for naught, just like the #8 missed.

Keep up the good analyses.

Good analysis, we had multiple opportunities and many poor decisions. You must have poured your heart into your analysis. We better heed some of your insights, if we are to have any chance against NDSU this Saturday.

I believe it's going to be a long, long year for both the MBB team and the WBB teams. Sure don't look good as of today!

I agree, it will be a stretch for YSU to win 21 games. Losing Ergle will be significant, he was a defensive force inside and we have no big men to fill those shoes. Perry needs a lot of help, and I'm sure someone will step up, but I still doubt we get 21 wins.

We will probably be about a .500 team and finish in the middle of the conference. Sure I would like a 21+ win season and national attention winning @ UMass, St. Johns and Pitt. In fact winning one game from any of those three would be great.

Good luck Penguins!!
