Title: Bracket Buster games to be announced next week
Post by: ysuindy on January 23, 2012, 05:06:21 PM
The Bracket Buster games will be announced next week.  The TV games will be announced on Monday January 30, with the remaining matchups after that.

ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi took his shot at TV games today and has Horizon League members Cleveland State, Valpo and Butler on TV as well as YSU opponents Akron and Buffalo.

YSU is projected to be around 20th in RPI among road teams.  I have seen Georgia State as a potential matchup.

The projected 20th ranked home team is Manhattan.  Other teams around 20 on this side of the Mississippi are Illinois State, Charleston Southern,Evansville and Coastal Carolina.  Maybe a game in Myrtle Beach on President's Day weekend will get a few YSU fans to make the trip.

Manhattan, Illinois State, Evansville, North Dakota State, Northeastern and Georgia State would all seem to be possibilities.  A couple of MVFC friends on that list.

YSU goes to Austin Peay - didn't see that one coming.  Of the 8 games not on ESPN involving Horizon League teams, the Horizon League team has the higher Pomeroy rating - strength of schedule not going to get helped much.  Fly Williams isn't playing for Peay these days.   ;D

I would imagine it has to do with the league records ...they are identical.
