Calhoun was complaining on his radio show Monday that he was unhappy that word leaked out about his hire at YSU before the D2 championship game.  Premature revelations are unfortunate but inevitable in this era of social media.

Can't even keep TS national security issues under wraps LOL!

Bigred,

The kids that we signed in December are contractually bound to YSU for next season, unless we were to release them.  Of course, they could just sit out a year and then go wherever they wanted.  Hopefully, they will be receptive to the new coach.

Thanks Wick, I was thinking that, but somewhere I thought I heard a HC change can release them without penalty?

Word is Demeatric has signed. Nothing official yet.

That's good for the offense. What about Waid? Not a fan of revolving QB's but these two would be special "IF" they're willing.

Justus has transferred out. Big loss for the team. We may see more..

I figured this much. I'd say YSU may go 0-11 next year might have to get some of the male cheerleaders to fill in  8)

This guy seem more in line with a college coach at 1FCS!

Treadwell, now at Michigan State, previously served as running-backs coach and offensive coordinator at YSU. He also spent time as an assistant at Miami-Ohio, Cincinnati, Stanford, Boston College, North Carolina State and Kent State.

Per football scoop, other candidates who have interviewed besides the ones mentioned here are Don Treadwell, Doug Phillips and Mike Sullivan.

I believe it's down to Tyrrell and Monty.

Don't count out Lou!

Strollo did day long interviews in Canton this past Saturday.   Could have a new coach soon.
Based on this and your most recent post about Curt being out, who do you think we are getting? Any name not already mentioned here?

Lou Holtz!

Siniora Sucker  ;D

My boss a LSU alum told me this on the 22nd.

When Baylor hired LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, the search was on to replace the highest-paid defensive coordinator in college football. Youngstown State head coach Bo Pelini is expected to become the next defensive coordinator for head coach Ed Orgeron, sources told Geaux247 on Monday. Stadium's Brett McMurphy was first to report.
Pelini agreeing to terms with the program marks a return to Baton Rouge for the 52-year old, who served as defensive coordinator for LSU's 2007 National Championship team. Pelini first arrived at LSU in 2005 following a one-year stint as Oklahoma's defensive coordinator and helped lead LSU to a 34-6 record during that time.
Earlier this month, Orgeron joined 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge to discuss the process with Jordy Culotta and T-Bob Hebert. Orgeron was looking for a fit culturally with his program, which is fresh off an undefeated season and National Championship, and Pelini is a name familiar to LSU after the program saw some of its best defenses when Pelini was running the show.

As Bo would say it's just a comedy of errors. This roster is made up of mostly D-2 talent and lower level FCS recruits and a few D-1 transfers that are not working out like they hoped. If he thinks he can win with that in the Missouri next year he might want to think again. Remember this is a coach who told Joey Burrow(LSU) He wasn't good enough to play at Nebraska and was better suited for the MAC level. The hand writing was on the wall when the class of 2015 offered by Wolford the previous year decided to go elsewhere. With the state this program is in, what quality recruits in their right mind would want to come here? Bo should do the right thing and part ways with YSU

Joe Burrow was awarded the Ohio Mr. Football Award and Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year Award as a senior. He was also a standout basketball player, and was named first-team all-state at point guard his senior year. Burrow was rated as a four-star football recruit, and was the eighth-highest ranked dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2015 according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Ohio State to play football on May 27, 2014. The only connection to Nebraska was his dad played there who was in 2014 the D coordinator for Ohio University. looks like your information about Bo not offering him is hearsay!?

No money game this year and basically not one next year, so I do not see having two money games as a doable thing. Although it would allow us to buy out Bo.

Seems we should have put more stock into the fact that Nebraska was willing to pay that much money to get rid of Bo.

How tight can money be if we are adding sports?

Yea there probably is some fat that could be trimmed in the AD Dept as is true with most schools.

With that said I can see where the powers to be would take a chance on Bo, big-time name, seemingly great resume, yadda yadda yadda, now the inevitable BUT.  Disappointed that the folks in charge did not or could not see the direction of the program and gave an extension.

Sometimes when you mess up the best thing to do is suck it up, fix it and move on.

I feel bad for the seniors, they will be looking at empty seats for their last home game.

Why feel bad for the seniors? Looks to me like they quit playing and don't give a sh**. Empty stadium is what they want. Yeah the coaching staff sucks but when you quit as a player that tells me a lot about the character and culture they came from.

I believe the problem with the Oline is talent. Even so, I have to believe that a Jody Webb, Or Martin Ruiz, or a Jermain Cook would have eaten up UNI. I mean, with all respect, we have all seen Alessi line up with 2 of those guys and there was simply no comparison, Alessi was clearly a step below. We run by committee because we have no leader. We need a TB that can make a whole out of a seam.

That dropped pass arrived early and under thrown ...none-the-less, it was a 'catchable' ball. Kick was wide right.

Our D line simply cannot apply pressure. When they do, they ignore everything else but the QB. That includes the TB's with the ball. The first two defensive sets of the second half, we brought pressure from the ends & it was just as effective. The difference was UNI could not run against a YSU Dline that stayed home. Every darn 3 & long we brought middle pressure & gave up big yards. Had we stayed home, UNI may have gotten a few yards, but not the 10-15 needed for the conversion. UNI simply ran delayed plays and we fell for it. I blame that on coaching.

The secondary just does not have it.

Also, UNI is not an upper-half MVFC team. We just wish they were. Wait until next week. A big line (not sure on depth though), mobile QB with arm, 2 good receivers & two good TBs.

Dan your full of crap UNI is excellent YSU  was outmanned and we still hung in there well. SDSU  struggle with SIU which I don't think that great of a team at all so next week's game is very winnable.

The MVFC is weak this year. NDSU and UNI THEN???
